It was on a brisk October night, a Thursday to be precise, a little past midnight, that Siyeon and her best friend, Bora, ever so quietly snuck through one of the large hallways of the all girls boarding school they attended, before they silently made their way up one of the many staircases of the school, trying to make as less noise as possible as to not get caught by any of the school authorities.
"Are you sure this is a good idea?" Siyeon whispered to her friend, who was a few steps ahead of her.
"Be quiet, just trust me." Bora whispered back at her. At that she just kept quiet. She trusted her. She trusted her with her life.Siyeon had been friends with Bora for years now. They met when she first came to the school and Bora, being a year older than her and thus a class higher, was assigned by the headmaster to lead her around and make her feel at home. Siyeon, being quite bad at making friends, too shy to approach anyone, just stuck by the older girl's side, even after she had fulfilled her duty of leading her around. Bora didn't mind though. She liked her. She found her weird and rather akward sense of humor very amusing and always thought it was adorable when she got shy or embarrassed. And just like that a great friendship was born.
After that they had spend almost every second of almost every day together. They were inseparable. They had promised each other that they'd be friends forever. Little did they know that promise wasn't going to last and it was going to be broken one day, on a brisk October night to be exact, a Thursday, a little past midnight, not long after they had snuck through one of the large hallways and up one of the many staircases that had led them to the school's attic, a restricted area for students.
"Wait, we aren't allowed to enter the attic." Siyeon whispered. Siyeon had always been a paragon of virtue, always respectful and nice to everyone, doing as she's told by those who have authority over her, never breaking any rules. Bora on the other hand was quite the opposite. She liked to rebel and do adventurous and exciting things, preferably things she wasn't allowed to do. She liked to live on the edge, testing as many limits as she could, even if it got her in trouble at it's time. Siyeon had always admired her bravery and courage. It was something she had always liked about the older girl. However, no matter how much she had liked the girl's rebelliousness, she had never dared to participate in any of the girl's shenanigans, monkeyshines or mischief. She had always just watched from the sidelines, occasionally saving her friend's skin by putting in a good word for her with the headmaster, convincing her not to punish the girl, promising it would never happen again, knowing damn well that it would, but the headmaster didn't need to know that. All she had to do was believe her on her pretty smile and virtuous eyes.
Although she never dared to join her friend in her mischief, the older had always asked her if she wanted to participate in whatever plan she had come up with, always getting a no in return as she wanted to stay out of trouble, at least, until that brisk October night, that Thursday, when they snuck their way up to the school's attic a little past midnight.
"Just trust me okay. As long as we don't get caught it's all good." her friend whispered back at her. This was the first time she had ever joined her friend in her plans and although she trusted her friend she was really nervous and very cautious, scared that they would get caught and get in trouble. But deep down she also felt a teeny tiny bit excited. She wasn't used to breaking rules or doing things she was restricted to do, so doing exactly that was both frightening and exciting her, but mostly frightening her.
"And what if we do get caught?" she asked the older girl.
"We'll deal with it." the girl answered, flashing her a reassuring smile. But that did not quite calm her down."Just relax. It'll be fine. Let's just have some fun and not worry about getting in trouble too much." the older said upon seeing her friend look around nervously, her eyes darting from left to right to make sure there is nobody that could possibly bust them.
