A/N This was based off the song Fire on Fire by Sam Smith^^^

Keefe couldn't settle down. He was a rule breaker and a class clown. His family was broken in irreparable ways that no one would ever understand. Until Sophie, that is.

He knew there was something special about her the moment he set eyes on her. And the specialness just kept growing. He helped Sophie through rough parts, and in turn she helped him.

Even though Fitz was his best friend, Keefe envied him. He saw how every time Fitz entered the room Sophie practically melted. Shoot, he could feel the happiness rolling off her in waves. Keefe wanted to have that effect on her. But he wasn't too jealous, because he knew he'd wear her down someday.

A knock at his bedroom door startled Keefe out of his thoughts. He glanced lazily at Ro. "Who is it?"

Ro rolled her eyes. "How am I supposed to know? I don't have x-ray vision!"

Keefe sighed in annoyance. "Anyone but Daddy Dearest is welcome to come in!" he called.

Sophie poked her head into the room. Speak of the angel. "Hey Keefe. Glad to see you aren't shirtless this time."

They both blushed a little at the reminder of last time Sophie had come to the Shores of Solace unannounced. Ro chuckled and Keefe took a second to shoot her a death glare.

"So, Foster, what brings you to my wonderful home?"

"Well...I just wanted to see if you were doing okay, with everything going on..." she trailed off, looking embarrassed.

Keefe softened at her concern. "You really didn't have to. You're probably busy with your Black Swan and regent duties."

"Everyone understands I have some time that I can use to do the things I want to do, not the things I have to. Besides, it's only fair after you stayed in my room for three days straight when I had my inflicting reset." Sophie tugged an itchy eyelash.

"Visiting me is something you want to do? Everyone I know thinks I'm a real pain," Keefe laughed.

"Of course I want to come see you! You're my friend!" The blush began working its way back up Keefe's neck.

Ro snorted. "As much as I hate to interrupt this cute moment, I'd like you to remember that I'm still here, and so is Sandor." Sandor humphed in agreement. Sophie had begun peering at Keefe closely.

"Hey, what's up Foster? Checking me out?" Keefe asked. Sophie immediately flushed a deep red.

"N—no, I wasn't, I mean, um," Sophie stuttered as Keefe laughed.

"Relax, I'm joking. But seriously, why were you staring at me?"

"I just realized that Ro dyed Iggy the same color as your eyes."

Ro started laughing when Keefe's mouth opened, then closed, then opened again like a dying fish gasping for air.

"Oh, um, I had absolutely nothing to do with that," he said.

"I...like it," Sophie admitted. Ro whistled as Keefe's mouth continued to hang open slightly. It was Keefe's turn to blush.

"Smoooooth, Hunkyhair. Real smooth," Ro said.

"Anyway," Sophie added quickly, "I didn't come here for that. I came here for...well, me and Fitz are...fighting again. He says he's fine with the whole 'unmatchable' thing, but he obviously cares and was really glad that I would look for my biological parents."
