Chapter 13: Holiday with the gods

John's POV:

Me, Sera and Myu were all in the car driving towards the beach. It was about an hour away roughly so it really wasn't too bad. Weather was hot too. I was excited for a break. Ever since I became king I had a lot of responsibilities and that's only piled up with Myu becoming apart of my life. I love her to death but keeping her safe is giving me anxiety. I tried focusing on something else. There were loads of holes in the road and it was annoying me! I had to dodge them all so that Myu could rest easy. After a while we arrived at the house. I think the rest of the gang are getting here a few hours later.

I started loading all our baggage into the house and then I picked up Myu and Sera and carried them into the house. I put them down on the sofa and then closed the door. I made my way upstairs and put our bags in the room. Damn it was nice. It had a balcony, an ensuite bathroom, flatscreen TV, king sized bed and a nice warm carpet. I left the bags packed because I knew Sera would want to do everything. She still had a few perfectionist traits but she was mostly a lazy bum.

They were both still asleep. 'Speaking of lazy bums'. Seriously how can they be asleep we're on holiday. "Hey Sera wake up" I gave her a gentle kiss and she slowly arose. "Yo" I bluntly greeted her. She looked around and the a smile crawled on her face. "We're here!" She shouted. You could heat the excitement in her voice. It woke Myu up too which was nice. She jumped around excitedly too. That reminded me. Remi was going to be here soon. Operation Myu was ago. I told them both the plan. "Okay Myu we are having some of our friends around but you've never met them before. When the doorbell goes we will hide round the corner and scare them. Sera will go and let them in first". Myu jumped in excitement. "Yayyyyy we are gonna be really scary and then go boo!" Myu responded. I'm glad my co-worker knew the mission plan. We were pretending to be army people by the way. After 15 minutes or so we heard the doorbell. I grabbed Myu and hid in the corridor. Sera let Remi, Blyke and Isen in. 'Perfect'.

I had to be on guard just incase they decided to defend themselves without realizing it was us. Wouldn't want them zapping my daughter. I awaited for the right moment to pounce. Myu was ready to strike too. They started looking around the place, "where's John?" I heard Remi ask. This was the time to attack. "IM HERE!" I screamed jumping round the corner. I got a satisfying scream out of them all. Sera was kn the verge of crying from laughter. Myu shouted a loud dragged out boo. It was high pitched as well so it wasn't very scary. After they were done screaming they had a go at me and then noticed Myu. "JOHN WTF!" Blyke shouted. I quickly covered Myu's ears and gave him the deadliest stare on the planet. Striking enough fear to stop his heart beat. "Who's this adorable little girl?" Remi asked playfully. She bent down to be on Myu's level. "I'm Myu and I'm scary" Myu replied. You couldn't take her Seriously even if you wanted to. "Yes you are, by the way I'm remi it's very nice to meet you" Remi smiled gently. Myu seemed to be happy which was good.

"Hey John not be rude or anything but who is this little girl exactly?"Remi whispered to me, Sera came and took Myu up into our room right on que. I didn't want Myu to listen to her past again. It upsets her and my goal is for everyone to be happy. "Well I'm technically her father now, and before you say anything let me explain" I said swiftly. I saw their eyes widen but soon rest as I began explaining the situation. "She was a slave for all her life because her parent didn't want her. I was going for a run and found her sprinting away from a man so I assumed she was in trouble. I went over to her and asked if she was okay and if she knew the man. He tried to take her off me but I didn't let him" Remi, Blyke and Isen all covered their mouths. They felt bad for Myu. I continued explaining, "I battled the guy and she began to trust me. Eventually after a week or so she wouldn't leave my side and didn't trust anyone except me. She opened up to Sera afterwards but she still prefers me. She thinks of me as her father and I spoke to Vaughn and he is helping me deal with the situation. I plan to keep her however. I couldn't deal with the guilt of giving her away after the bond we have formed". It was a tragic story with a good ending.
