Vlad was glad she overslept. It allowed him time to get the final preparations done before she

awoke, so they would be ready to go as soon as she opened her eyes. The less time they spent

discussing their destination the better for him. He was taking her to a private island in the

Caribbean. It was off the main islands of the Bahamas. Completely self-sufficient and completely

isolated. She wouldn't be able to leave there without him.

They were ready to go by the time Azura woke up and Vlad gave her only thirty minutes to eat

and get ready. No one was to tell her where she was going. In fact, they themselves didn't know.

Only Eon knew where they were going, and he wasn't here. So, it was no surprise that she

showed up looking most pissed at being rushed. He smiled at her and as usual she didn't

reciprocate, just narrowed her eyes at him for daring to be happy.

He was happy too. He was ecstatic that she wasn't the silent weeping creature from yesterday.

So, she was pissed, he would rather her be angry at him for the entire vacation than what he saw

last night.

She climbed aboard the helicopter without a word of greeting but still it didn't dim his smile.

What did bother him was the fact she never asked about Irena. Wasn't she concerned about

what would happen to her once she was gone? Or was she so happy to be rid of the child? For his

own piece of mind, he told her anyway.

"We will only be gone for a week. Mila will guard Irena like a mother hen. She'll be fine."

She didn't even acknowledge the news. She just kept looking out at the passing landscape.

Lativia met them at the airstrip and bordered the plane with them. That brought a response

from her. She eyed the doctor like she wanted to shove her from the plane...while it was in

flight.

Lativia directed her to the bedroom and they both went in. Five minutes later, Lativia came out

but Azura didn't. "She's fine." The doctor assured and when Vlad moved to go to her, Lativia's

eyes roamed his body. He absolutely hated when she did that. He shouldn't have ever touched

her, now she was just one of his many mistakes. "If I didn't know better, one would think you

actually care for her."

"What I feel is none of your concern. Do not forget to whom you speak, Doctor."

"Forgive my forwardness, Your Highness." She muttered looking at him from under her lashes.

What did he ever see in her? What did he see in any of them? Just pairs of open legs. Nothing

more. "When can she be of use?"
