"See what you made me do," Vlad said as he dropped his arm back to his side. Another man dressed in black went outside and dragged the cabbie's body inside. Then shut the door.
"Those things are tracked, we have to go now." The man said in a New York accent.
"How much does your mother know?" Vlad asked tiredly pinching the bridge of his nose and I glanced at my mother, she was trying to warn me away on the cell phone earlier. "How much does she know?" He repeated, and I started to cry.
"Please don't hurt my mother," I begged, dropping to my knees. "I won't run anymore, I'll be good I swear, just pleased don't hurt her..."
"Answer the damn question!" He hissed.
"Please..." I continued to beg. "I'll let you do what you want. I'll do anything you want, don't hurt my mom..."
"Shut up!" He gritted out "I don't have time for this."
"Please don't hurt her..."
"I said shut up!" Vlad growled and knocked me out with the butt of the gun.
"Damn, she fine!" The henchman exclaimed as he finally got a good look at the weeping woman. "No wonder you want her back. You do good work mama..."
Buffoon. Vlad thought as he shot the man. He knew too much anyway. He turned and faced the mother. "Your daughter will live happy if you forget we exist, she cannot come back to you. The men that took her are a lot worse than I am. I'm leaving you alive. Talk and I'll send her back in pieces. Understood?"
The mother nodded quickly but then Vlad glanced at the woman on the floor "On second thought...wait right here." He picked up Azura and walked out to the van across the street.
He dumped her in the back and returned to the house and untied the mother. Sticking the gun in her back he commanded "Walk." as he directed her towards the van. Once inside he commanded his assistant "Drive."
Eon never asked questions, which was why he lived so long as Vlad's assistant. As they headed for the private airfield, Vlad inspected the bruise on Azura's head. Besides a headache she would be fine, he really should stop hitting her, he thought as he tenderly stroked her cheek. He looked up to see the mother watching him with disgust.
Now he knew where she got her looks from, he mused as he smiled at her. Besides the eye, skin, and hair colour, he was looking at an older version of his wife, right down till the way she turned up her nose.
"You're just like those men." She hissed.
"Not really." He said not wanting to get into an argument. Her mother was smart too, he knew she was trying to warn Azura away, but he knew Azura. Even if she got it, she still would've come.
"No, you're much worst." She decided and scooted next to Azura and pulled her into her arms.
He left them be, till they arrived at the airstrip.
"Get out." He told the mother and she kissed Azura on her forehead before jumping out of the van. Eon directed her to the plane and Vlad picked up Azura. He put her unconscious form next to her mother and strapped her in. Eon brought a first aid kit and handed it to the mother. He took his seat as Vlad headed to the cockpit.
The plane took off not long after and Azura woke while her mother was cleaning the cut on her head.
"I met my new son-in-law. He's a real charmer." Her mother hissed as she placed the bandage.
"I'm sorry Mom. Where are we?" I asked groggily.
"On his private plane apparently, heading back to Russia no doubt." She whispered.
