Dirk smiled exiting the Caffè with Jake. It was sprinkling, which was normal Indiana weather especially since it was fall. He wanted to grab Jakes hand and hold it. He glanced down at the taller males hand. It looked rough, and manly compared to Dirks long nibble fingers, prefectly kept nails painted a light orange. His wrist were small, and danity. He looked the other way listening to Jake. Jake, ironically enough, was in school to be become a teacher. Dirk on th other hand was in far more advanced classes, most to do with robots and such. Dirk chuckle, his texan accent breaking through "Wow so ironic Jake. " Jake looked down, laughing "Gosh it really is" he said. Jakes face burned hearing Dirks accent. Jake smiled and looked up. "I didn't expect you'd be so gosh dilly darn cute" he whispered in a low, husky voice. Dirk blushed stuttering his words out "I-i- u thank you" he looked down, holding the coffee cup close to him for heat.
"Where do you live?" Dirk asked. They had stopped by the library, Dirk needed a few history books. Secretly Dirk enjoyed history and it was one of his minors. He picked up two thick books about the Middle East, and the religious history there. Stuffing them into his back pack, he put it back over his shoulders. "I live in a small two bedroom apartment just outside of campus. " Jake said smiling. Dirk huffed "Oh my od this thing is heavy, that sounds close to wear I live." He said. Jake smiled and grabbed the pack from dirk. It was black with random buttons and pins all over it. A few weird keychains. Jake chuckled, "You aren't strong are you?" Dirk pouted a little, "I am strong! I just can't hold such heavy things!!" He came back crossing his arms. Jake rolled his eyes, slinging Dirks back pack over one shoulder. "Come on lets go" he said. Dirk smiled a little. They exited the library. Apparently Jake had a car parked over near the small nic nack story. Dirk hopped in, "Do you have a car?" Jake asked. He set Dirks messenger bag, which held his laptop, it the trunk along with his. Dirks heavy backpack was there as well. "Yeah but I let my brother use it today. You know, my twin, though we don't look similar or at least twin like, at all." Dirk rambled. Jake chuckled softly, "You're rambling silly. "
It turned out, ironically enough, they lived a few seconds away. Dirk send to give him a second, he needed to put his stuff away. Jake smiled and went to put his laptop away. Dirk looked for his keys, realizing he had forgotten them. He knocked, Dave, his twin. Dave smirked, Dirk rolled his eyes. "Shut up I know I forgot my keys" he mumbled stepping inside. 'I'm mute you dick' he signed. Dirk gave a quick sorry before leaving with his keys. Dave had been born mute, the doctors said they could fix it when he was around three. But that never happened, Dave was physical and selective mute. Dirk never knew what happened, he had only told your mother and that was that. Dirk knew sign language since a young age, so did Dave. It was his only way of communication after all. You sigh and wait in the hall way for Jake. He came out, closing and locking his door. "Whats wrong pal, you seem down and blue." Jake asked. Dirk looked up "Nah, im just remembering shitty stuff."he responded bluntly in a monotone voice.
Jake and Dirk were now in a small comic book store, laughing over stupid puns and jokes. Dirk hadn't laughed or smiled like this in a while, it felt good. He looked down chuckling softly. "I'm glad you sat down at the table."
Shhh I know Dirk and Dave aren't really twins but in this au they are. Aslo I just love mute Dave, okay shhh. Hes my baby. Anyways,
This story is super fun to write. Expect a lot more in the future.
