It was a cold, winter day in Metropolis, but it was beautiful with the snow. My friend and roommate Sarah and I had both managed to get jobs at the Daily Planet as reporters. It was our first day. The only problem was, we were both running late.

We were currently running as carefully as we could through the thick snow and ice. My car was in the shop, and the city bus was delayed due to the weather. So that meant we had to walk.

I could see the Daily Planet a few blocks away from where we were. I turned to Sarah as we ran.

"We can make it." I said, out of breath.

We finally made it to the last crosswalk. I noticed that there was a visible thick sheet of ice covering the crosswalk. I slowed to a stop and stopped Sarah.

"Be careful." I told her. She nodded.

"I'll go first, Y/N, so I can see how bad it is." She told me.

Before I could stop her, she was already crossing the street. She slipped a couple times, but managed to keep her balance. When she made it, she waved for me to cross.

I started walking, holding my arms out to steady myself. I made it about halfway when I stepped wrong. I fell on my ass, and the moment I landed, I heard tires screeching. I looked to my right, and saw a semi truck spinning out of control. The worst part was, it was coming towards me!

"NO!" I heard Sarah scream as the truck got closer. I instinctively threw my arms in front of my face and squeezed my eyes shut, knowing I was going to die.

I waited for the impact, but it never came. I opened my eyes, and saw that Superman had stopped the truck. He turned to me.

"Are you alright, ma'am?" He asked, looking concerned.

I opened my mouth to answer, but no sound came out. I was too shocked to speak. I had just been rescued by Superman. I had had a crush on him for months, and here he was, saving my life.

He walked, well, more like he flew over to me.

"Are you alright?" He repeated. "Are you hurt?"

"Y-Yes, I-I'm fine." I finally managed to whisper.

He smiled.

"Let's get you out of the road." He said, holding his hand out, which I took.

He pulled me close and slowly flew me over to the sidewalk, where he set me down. After which, he went to check the driver of the semi. I looked around, and noticed a crowd had formed. Pictures were being taken of me. I ducked my head, uncomfortable with the attention.

Soon, an ambulance showed up and took the driver to the hospital. Superman flew back over to me and Sarah.

"Before I go, could you tell me your name?" He asked.

"Um, yeah." I replied, still in shock. "My name is Y/N."

He smiled again.

"Well Y/N, I hope to see you again soon." He said, rising into the air. "Bye."

And with that, he flew off. I stared after him, until I couldn't see him anymore.

"Bye." I whispered, knowing he would hear me.

"Oh my gosh!" Sarah whispered excitedly in my ear, pulling me with her as she started walking to the Daily Planet again. "You were just rescued by Superman! I mean, are you okay?"

"Yeah." I said. "I'm still trying to process what just happened."

"He's very handsome." She said. "And, he said he wants to see you again."
