I woke up in someone's bed. I looked around and I took in the oak planked walls with a painting of a wither, each head with empty eyes. That was to my right, but the rest of the walls were marked with rather windows or doors. I looked to my left and saw Raze sleeping soundly. I sat up and gasped at the bandage around his wing. He's hurt, but how badly?

I gently elbowed him in the shoulder and he groaned. He looked up and I read nothing but pain in his eyes, what was that about? I thought we were friends... he gave a thin smile to show he was joking, but I still heard pain mixed with his sarcasm. And he read my mind as I thought to myself.

He's been beaten by the man! And my elbow into the shoulder only made things worse. What is the matter with me?

But then he interrupted,  actually I fell out of a nearby tree and landed on my wing. And your cat has some type of magic or something, because it won't stop disappearing. Oh, and the boy had a bigger brother that dragged both of us in here. And yes, he was the one who tied you to the bed so you wou-

WHAT? I looked at my shoulders and found rope knots all over them. My wings were trapped under my body and my ankles were tied tightly so I wouldn't be able to get up. WE ARE KIDNAPPED AGAIN! I tried to sit up, but the ropes forced me down. I panicked and yanked my entire body against the ropes. Every time I moved, the ropes tore into my body. After five minutes of trying to get out, my body was raw and I panted from the rage. All the way though, Raze uselessly tried to calm me down mentally, only making things worse. I want to be free again! I then started to cry, the only reason I wanted to get out of the lab is so no one can control me ever again. And now I am strapped to a bed! A stupid bed made for killing! It's all my fault. I shouldn't of had got us into trying to escape the humans that tried to take us over...

I felt a hand weakly reach mine, which was loosely tied to the bottom of the bed, only tight enough to not be able to untie my shoulders. They are smart to give me a little freedom, right? I don't know. And I thought I would never in the future. It's okay. They aren't trying to hurt us. In fact, I could be on a zombie's dinner menu if I landed on the ground, which I tried to do when I was out there. But the pain was too much. And when you were unconcience, they could of killed you when the oldest brought you in. I guess they want to make sure we are okay before we took off again. Just stay calm, and you won't get hurt anymore than you are right now...

I calmed down a little. But why did they tie me up when they are helping us?

He sighed and shook his head, showing great weakness, I was going to say they did it so you wouldn't fall off while you were sleeping. It was a precaution. I stared at him and groaned from the raw pain I had in my shoulders and ankles. I closed my eyes and tried to focus on something else, but right after that, I heard a door open and my eyes shot open. My head yanked upward and I saw a kid that had to be about seven years old walk in and gasp, "Jacob!" His brown hair waved in the air as his Palish skin blended into his woolen coat that went over his black shirt. His pants were light blue, which matched his ice blue eyes.

"What is it now? Another zombie waiting to be hit in the face again?" I had to laugh at that comment.

"When are you going to forgive me for that? And the girl is awake!"

"What?" And I heard stomping in the other room. The next thing I knew, a teenager boy ran in. His hair was sticking out in all directions. Obviously, he just woke up. Then he saw me, "oh, hello. What's your name?" He looked at me with a curious smile. He looked a lot like the boy, just instead of a black shirt covered in wool, he had a leather jacket on top of a grey shirt and his eyes had a little brown in them.

"Priya. You must be Jacob. I heard a little about you." For the first time since I was knocked out, I have spoken with my lips. "And I can guess that you know his name?" I asked as I pointed at Raze. Jacob nodded.

"I found you first," the little boy smiled, "but he didn't believe me because I trolled him with a shovel earlier yesterday. So all you slept through is the night."

"Oh," I laughed at myself, "it's funny, because when I was on the ground, I thought you were a man." And I laughed even more. Eventually, I found everyone else laughing with me. And by this time, my chest was hurting from the lack of air. I tried to curl up, but the ropes rubbed against the raw skin from my struggle and I winced in pain. I again had my heart racing and ready to leave the bed.

So I had to ask for assistance, "um... excuse me, but can you get me out of this tangle please?" The boys looked at me and saw how raw my skin is from rubbing.

Jacob straightened up like some gentleman taking a girl to the prom or something, "don't worry, I'll get you out in no time." He untied my wrists and I rubbed them, because the knots were tight. My shoulders were loose and I used this freedom to release my ankles from the knots that were tangled with them, only to find the knots too tight for my weak hands to yank them loose. Before long, Jacob got his hands into the mess of rope and got me free from the fiber prison. I jumped out of bed and spread out my wings to stretch. I felt a little relief as I walked around. It's been so long since I stood up again. I was loving it. My new freedom. I was able to stand. But no way, I am not going to try to fly in here. There isn't enough room to do it. So all I did was walk around.

I heard some shuffling and I looked over to see Raze trying to get up. He painfully sat in the bed and Jacob eased him by letting him lay down. I just kept walking down the hallway.

I walked outside, but a hand gently grabbed my shoulder, "its not the best idea to show yourself off now, right?"

"Um... I guess not..." and I started to walk from the doors. This is a better way to start, right? It's not like they are going to do anything as bad as making a serum go through my blood and turn me into a new species. I hope not...
