Part 9: Uncomfortable dinner

SANTANAS POV

It's Boxing Day and we all decided to stay at Quinn and Britts last night. I stayed with Britt, Veronica stayed with Quinn and Jack was in Kurts old room. It was quite early and I was awake with Britt cuddled into the side of me. I was in a world of my own before my phone started ringing. I grabbed it quickly and put it on silent so it didn't wake Britt.

I look at the caller id and see it's my dad. I answer it and prepare to whisper.

Santana: Dad, do you know what time it is?

Dad: I know baby, why are you whispering though?

Santana: Britt is still asleep next to me and so is everybody else in the house

Dad: Well that makes sense. I was just calling to see if you and Brittany wanted to come over and have dinner with us tonight. I am going to invite Veronica and Jack too. Veronica says she has something she wants to tell me in person. Do you have any idea what that could be?

Santana: I do know yes, it's best she tells you. But as for Britt and I count us in. I have a doctors appointment this afternoon but we can come after that

Dad: What doctors appointment?

Santana: It's just a routine check up to make sure I'm healing properly

Dad: Well do you want me to come with you? I don't mind

Santana: No, it's okay dad. Britt is coming with me. You stay with mom. You know how she gets

Dad: I'm not saying anything, your mom will hear me. You've got a good one there Santana, don't let her go

Santana: Not planning on it dad. We told each other we loved each other last night

Dad: That's great honey. I'm really happy for you and Brittany. I'm really sorry about how I acted in the beginning Santana

Santana: It's okay dad, I get why now. It was bothering me so much before because you went through the same thing with mom but couldn't let me be happy. But Britt and I forgive you. Clean slate

Dad: Thank you for giving me another chance, I would've understood if you didn't

Santana: Well to be honest dad, I didn't want to, It was Brittany who persuaded me to let everything go because she wanted to see me happy

Dad: I knew I liked that girl

Santana: Well I'm glad you do dad. I better get going, Britt is about to wake up

Dad: Okay, baby. I'll see you and Brittany later. Tell her I say hi

Santana: Will do dad, Bye.

I put the phone down just as Brittany starts to wake up. As she is waking she pulls me closer to her which makes me fall in love with her so much more. "Morning baby" She whispers while leaving little kisses on my neck. "Hey babe, how'd you sleep?" I asked her while running my hand through her hair. "Like a baby, until somebody's phone woke me up" She joked. "Sorry Britt, it was my dad. He's invited us for dinner tonight" I say. "ooo, dinner with the Lopez's, I bet that's fun" She replies with enthusiasm. "Not really Britt, it will probably get quite boring unless any drama goes down but we can expect there to be drama if my brother will be there. I haven't really spoken to him in a while" I say to her. "What happened with him San?" She asked. I thought for a minute whether or not I should tell her but I decided against it. "That's not important, it just caused the whole family dynamic to shift. Before that we were all fun and giggles and now it's like I can't wait to get out of there and go home. But hopefully this year me and TJ can put it behind us and we can get back what we had. Also I think Veronica is going to tell dad about Quinn" I say to her. "Wait? Really?! Don't you think she should wait a little while. I mean we know your dad isn't homophobic, not by a long shot but your father is used seeing you with girls, it would be weird if you showed up with a guy as it would for Veronica turning up with a woman" Britt says to me. "I know, although when I did come out he said if he thought anyone of us were gay it would've been Veronica" I chuckled. "Well, maybe it won't come as much of a shock then. Come on baby we have to get ready for your appointment" Britt says. I sighed as she looked back at me. "Look, San. I know you don't like the hospital but you aren't staying this time. It's just a check up" Britt reassures. "I know, it's the smell that gets me" I say to her. "What the smell of it being clean" She laughs. "I know it sounds weird, it's the smell of bleach" I fake gag as she giggles next to me. I could never get used to that giggle. "I love you" I say to her. "I love you too" She says as she leans in to kiss me. I close the gap and slip my tongue in straight away. I pull her on top of me as Britt pulls away. "Baby, I don't want to hurt you. Be careful." Britt says. "I'm fine Britt, it doesn't hurt anymore. I just wanna get my sweet lady kisses in before we go to my parents" I say to her. "Well what you want, you get" she says as I smirk and lean in as she pulls away. "Anything but sex. You know what the hospital said" She chuckles. "Well thats my plans ruined" I laugh with her. "You can still have kisses though. No more than 10 minutes. We have to get ready" Britt says.
