"I'm tired," I whined, dragging out the words as I dramatically dragged my feet along the footpath. The four boys groaned, Cain rolled his eyes and Jay slapped his hand over my mouth.
"Complain one more time and we will run away and leave you here," Rick threatened.
"I fwill whick four land," I narrowed my eyes at Jay.
"What?"
"She said, 'I will lick your hand'," Cain translated, amusement dancing in his steel grey eyes.
"You wouldn't," Jay's eyes widened a little bit. I swiftly stuck my tongue out and slobbered all over his hand. He yelped and quickly took his hand back, before running over to Den, rubbing his saliva covered hand on Den's jacket.
Ever since the drama yesterday, Den had been pretty much silent. He sent Jay a withering look.
"Get off me, you prick," he shoved his away, his voice low. We trudged along the route home from the park a while longer, the silence heavy.
"I'm still tired," I whinged again.
"Oh my bloody god!" Cain threw his arms in the air in defeat, before stopping and bending over so I could hop on his back.
"Cain!" Jay gasped. Cain looked at him.
"What?"
"Censor that mouth, boy."
"What should I censor it to? Oh my red internal fluid gosh?"
"Shut up, all of you!" Den yelled. Jay shrank back a bit, and Rick looked sad. Cain stopped abruptly and swung to look at Den, causing me to almost fall of his back.
"If you're going to be so sour, why the hell did you come?"
"Cain!"
"HECK. Why the HECK did you come?" Cain shouted.
"Because I can't leave you alone with Amy!" Den shouted back, his face turning red.
"Incase you havn't noticed, Jay and Rick are her too, dumbass!"
"Cain!"
"Leave it, Jay," Rick patted the cheeky boy on the shoulder. I scrambled down off Cain's back and stalked over to Den.
"Listen, I don't really understand your problem, Cain and I are friends. Jay and I are friends. Rick and I are friends. You can either grow a pair and tell us what's up your butt, or get over it, because quite frankly, you're irritating at the moment," I jabbed him in the chest.
I very rarely lost my temper like this over serious things. I could scream the house down at the boys over stupid things, but if it was a serious matter, I could normally stay calm and level-headed. Jay and Rick stood there wide-eyed, but Cain had seen me like this.
"Temper as fiery as her red internal fluid hair," Jay muttered. All eyes shot to him, and he held up his hands in defense. "Sorry."
Den huffed and stormed off. The rest of us continued walking back to my house.
"This. Is. So. Awkward." Jay stated. I couldn't help but laugh. Jay could always make a bad situation good again. Just then, an expenise Porsche convertible drove past, with two guys in the front, blasting a Rihanna song full volume.
"Thug life!" Cain screeched, pounding his chest before waving them a peace sign. The drove away, giving Cain irritated glances.
"SHINE BRIGHT LIKE A DIAMOND!" Rick sang/yelled. Jay joined in, and soon they were singing the chorus over and over again, because they didn't know any other words. We (thankfully) reached the point where Cain, Jay and I kept going straight, and Rick turned left to get back to his house. Jay started walking backwards, and sang woefully to Rick until he was out of sight. Cain had taken to covering my ears with his hands.
We continued walking, making easy small talk until we saw Kailyn, a girl from school. A girl Jay may or may not have a teeny tiny MAJOR CRUSH on.
"Hi Jay," she said quietly, brushing her chocolate brown hair behind her ear.
"Hi Kailyn," Jay blushed, grinning stupidly.
"Oh look, a tree! Come on Cain!" I shouted, grabbing Cain's wrist and ran across the road and into the big park. I towed him along until we were out of sight of the two lovebirds.
"'Oh look, a tree!'? Really Amy?" Cain laughed. I pouted and slapped his arm.
"It was amazing on the spot thinking, thank you very much!" He just continued to clutch his sides, laughing his ass off. I joined in with his infectious laughter. It was a beautiful sound, my laugh mingling with his. Once we both calmed down, fatigue washed over me. I sank down to the ground.
"I'm tired," I dragged out the words for the third time that afternoon.
"Oh, baby," he pouted, patting my head and sitting down on the grass next to me. I grinned and turned to look at him. He had on a pair of grey skinny jeans and his favourite 'Zoo York' t-shirt, as well as a pair of Dr Martens and a slouch beanie. He looked perfect, as always. I grinned and stole the beanie off his head, pulling it onto mine so that it covered all of my face and went down to my chin. "Now where did my Amy go?" His voice sounded low and husky.
His fingers gently brushed up my neck and along my jaw line, before taking the beanie between his fingers and slowly pulling it up, reavealing my face. He settled the beanie properly onto my head, our eyes never breaking contact. His face was so close to mine, I felt his breath on my lips. He nuzzled his head into my neck, leaving little kisses as he worked his way up to my jaw line, following the same path his fingers had a moment ago. He brought his eyes back up to mine, and searched them, his grey orbs looking into my brown ones. His were several shades darker, filled with emotions I was too flustered to figure out.
His eyes flickered to my lips and back to my eyes. Was he going to kiss me? Did I mind? Hell no, I wanted him to kiss me. So badly. With every fibre of my being.
"Yo! You two! Stop dry humping so I can tell you the good news!" Jay's voice came crashing into my ears, breaking the mood. I jumped away from Cain, who looked at Jay, slightly annoyed.
"What is it?" I asked, almost tripping as I stumbled over some fallen leaves.
"I asked Kailyn to be my Valentine, and she said yes!" He whooped.
"Awww," Cain appeared next to me, as he reached forwards and pinched the smaller boy's cheeks.
"Shuddup," he blushed slightly. "So are you two, like, going out now?" My eyes widened. Cain and I both paused, but shook our heads.
"Oh," was all Jay said, before skipping out of the park. "See ya tomorrow!"
I looked up at the sky as twilight took over, sending the world into shades of purple, blue and black. As the sun sank into the trees, it sucked the colour from the world with it. I sighed.
"I'm -"
"Tired. Yeah, I get it," Cain finished for me. He came over and swept me up into his arms, carrying me bridal style. I looked up at him and he looked down at me.
"Good thing it was Jay who found us, not Rick."
"Or Den," Cain voiced what we had both been thinking. I sighed again and rested my head on Cain's firm chest. "Amy?"
"Yeah?"
"Be my Valentine for Monday?" My heart fluttered. I was definitley falling for Cain.
"Yes."
Sorry for the majorly long wait! I had no inspiration or motive to write, except when I had to sleep. And I mean really had to sleep because I was getting up at 4 the next morning!
