Warnings : unsympathetic Virgil, toxic dukexiety

---------------------

Remus was standing in the Virgil's doorway. He was just standing there silently as he watches the other. He still can't believe the day had finally came, it still felt like yesterday when they shared their first kiss and now they are sharing their last goodbye.

Virgil was busy packing his bags, getting ready to move to the light sides. He pack everything that was important to him. Remus noted that he didn't pack any of his gifts into his bags.

"A...are you really sure ?" Remus hated how he stuttered. He likes being loud, it makes him feel less weak and vulnerable.

Virgil ignored him. He threw his old hoodie to the side. Remus went and pick it up. He slowly run his thumb over all the patches and holes in the tattered hoodie. It held a lot of memories. He drape it over his shoulder, if he's not getting a goodbye, he might as well have a part of who Virgil once was.

A click sound was heard and Remus snapped his head up and look at the other. The suitcase was closed, it seems like the other was done packing.

"I'll miss you." Remus whispered. Virgil grab his suitcase and walked towards him.

He stopped in front of him and Remus look up at the other. There was no hint of sadness on the other's face. It was blank and emotionless. Remus shivered, it was scarier than seeing him angry.

He desperately wanted to hug the other but he knew he'll just be push away and his heart definitely can't take the rejection right now.

"I love you." Remus stared into Virgil's cold hard glare. What little hope wishing that the other was just pretending and will at least show a hint of sadness was gone.

"You're in my way." It was cold and monotone, no anger or sadness.

He move to the side and Virgil pushed pass him. There wasn't a small goodbye or a second glance back at the other side.

Remus stared at what was once his favourite room. It still looks the same, it stills looks like Virgil never left. He walked deeper into the room. The room felt colder despite having a hoodie draped over him.

Everything was still there, the pictures, the gifts, the memories. He didn't know whether to feel grateful or sad.

He held up the kitten plush on the bed. It was the first harmless thing he was able to create. He remember how happy he was that day, showing the plush to Virgil with tears in his eyes, happily ranting about how he can create things just like Roman.

He held the plush closer to his chest, there were tears in his eyes just like the first time this plush came into existence. But this time, these tears held a different emotion.

He dropped to the floor, holding the plush and hoodie tight. He cried.

He's so selfish, he wanted Virgil to be happy. And if Virgil is happy without him in his life then he should be happy for him. Besides, Virgil has found a family and happiness with the light sides and Remus was only in his way.
