'Knock Knock'
"Come in," Lex says indignantly. He was in the middle of browsing a secret government website with files on multiple meteor freaks across the globe.
"Hey Lex, sorry to bother you," says Lana. His expression softens immediately as he clicks his laptop shut. "Hey Lana, it's good to see you." he smiled. He always loved seeing her- she just brings so much positivity to his busy, complicated life. "Why do I owe the pleasure?" he asks whilst strolling casually towards his whiskey, a very normal occurance for Lex Luthor. "It's Clark." she sighed. He took a sip of his whiskey and looked at Lana. Clark. Lana's boyfriend. "Clark. A reoccurring topic of ours." he muttered.
"I really am sorry to bother you Lex. He's just been acting strange lately and he's never around anymore. I can always rely on you when our relationship hits a road block." she said. He smiled again. "True. I'm always here for you Lana." He sat down and indicated for Lana to sit next to him. As they talked for a while, she sighed. "I just wish he would dedicate more time to me. More time to us. But I guess with Clark that's not possible."
"I know how you feel. Clark isn't the most reliable person but I can assure you Lana, he tries to spend time with you. He always comes to me with different problems, always trying to save the day. He's just one of those people who cares too much about some things." She looked up at Lex and smiled. Her eyes shimmered and Lex looked back at her, longing for a just a brief, brief moment of romance between them. He smiled back. Suddenly, there were tears in her eyes." Lana, what's wrong?" he asked in concern.
" Clark is just a very emotional topic for me and- and I just don't know anymore Lex." He looked down at her and reached his arm around her. He thought for the quickest of moments, that she might pull away. But she didn't. Instead she leaned on his chest and sobbed quietly. He held her tight and closed his eyes. He wanted to live this moment forever. When she pulled away, she rubbed her eyes. "Thank you Lex. I owe you,"
"No you don't." he whispered in her ear and hugged her.
