We agreed that unless we found anything suspicious, L would have the cameras removed after one week. He had spent every second since the cameras were installed, in that dark room, watching Light. The seventh day was approaching, and he still hadn't found anything he could use to prove Light was who he thought he was. Everyone thought he crazy for thinking Light could be anything more then an ordinary student, I even found myself thinking things like that at times. But I always pushed the thought away, I trusted in L after all. He told the chief to take the week off, saying that he should spend time with his family. But I think we all knew that was just an excuse so he wouldn't have to listen to him claiming his son was innocent over and over. I was still in charge of watching Sayu, so I spent most of my time locked in dark room with the detective in question. We didn't talk much during that time, we simply sat in the dark, him in his odd position on the couch, while I sat normally in a near by chair. He told me I didn't have to anymore, as he had no interest is Sayu, only Light.

"I can't let you do all this work by you're self! Please, it wouldn't kill you to take a break for once, I'll watch Light for you!" I insisted.

"No. I'm perfectly capable of handling this myself. I won't stop you if you wish to keep watching Sayu, but I shall continue to monitor Light until the cameras are removed" he explained. The bags under his eyes seemed darker than usual, if that was even possible. I looked at the pile of empty coffee cups and candy wrappers sprawled on the table in front of him.

"If you don't mind me asking, when was the last time you slept?" I asked.

"8 days" He said casually, as if that were a reasonable response.

"Ryuzaki! You're going to end up killing you're self at this rate!" I said.

"That'd be better then being killed my Kira" he remarked. I couldn't tell if that was intended to be a joke, or if he actually meant it.

"No, it's really not! You need sleep and- "

I glanced at the candy wrappers again.

"When was the last time you ate something besides sugar?!"

"About, 16 years"

"I.. I can't even be mad at that. That's actually kinda impressive.." You'd never guess someone as slender as he was lived off sweets alone. I was amazed he hadn't died of a sugar over dose or something.

"Now, unless you have something actually important to talk about. Please get back to work. I have things to do" he hadn't taken his eyes off the screen in front of him once during our conversation, he didn't even blink. I signed.

"Just.. please sleep soon. I'm worried about you, ya know.." and with that I left the room, shutting the door behind me.

"Hey, (Y/N)!" I was happily greeted by Matsuda as I entered the main room.

"How's Ryuzaki? None of us have seen him since those cameras were installed" He said.

"He's convinced Light is Kira" I told him. Aizawa rolled his eyes.

"It's obvious Light has nothing to do with this, he's only waisting our time and resources" He stated.

"I wouldn't say that. He's the worlds greatest detective after all, if he suspects Light, surely there's a good reason for it" I defended.

"You worked with him before right? What was he like during that case?" He asked.

"Well, it was a while ago but..from what I remember, he was intelligent, determined, calm. Mysterious, but not in a scary way.. he was always there when I needed him, and I felt safe talking to him.." I had meant to stop talking after "calm" but I found my self rambling without realizing as memories of the past case flooded my mind.

"Ooh! Sounds like someone's got a crush on Ryuzaki!" Matsuda chimed happily, only to receive a thwack over the head with a rolled new paper, by Aizawa of course.

"Ah! N-no! I just have a high respect for him, that's all.." I reassured him. I needed to make sure I didn't slip up like that again. If my feelings were obvious enough that Matsuda of all people could figure it, L could probably figure it out immediately.

"Yeah, well you should teach him some respect. Obviously he has none for the Chief or his family! He doesn't even respect us!" Aizawa Snapped. Anyone could easily see why he would think that, and I wouldn't blame them. But from what I had seen, he seemed to respected everyone- maybe with the exception of Matsuda- he just had a different way of showing it. After all, just about everything he did was different from "normal" people, from the way he sat, to the way he thinks.

"There's only a day left, once the week ends and the cameras are gone, I'm sure he'll snap out of it" And with that conversation over, I began helping Matsuda sort out some files. Some were about the FBI agents, some about the heart attacks, it took us about an hour to finish them up.

"Oh man, is it really that late already?" Matsuda said, glancing at his wrist watch.

"Well, I'll be heading home now, thanks for all you're help!" he said, putting the files back where they belonged, and letting himself out. Aizawa and the others had already left, meaning me and L were the only ones Left.

"Ryuzaki?" I said quietly, as I slipped back in his room. I received no answer. He must had been too focused oh Light to pay attention to the rest of the world.

"Oh!" I put my hands over my mouth to muffle the surprised noise. L was sitting on the couch, with his arms wrapped around his knees, which were, as usual, positioned against is chest. His eyes were closed, and his thumb was resting in between his lips, almost like a baby. I couldn't help but smile at the sight. I pulled the blanket off the near by bed, hotels always had the best blankets, and draped it over his hunched up shoulders. I tried to do it gently, as not to wake him. Although he stirred for a moment when the blanket first touched him, he didn't seem to have woken. I hesitated for a moment, before brushing his messy bangs away, and placing my lips on his forehead. I stepped back, blushing at my own action.

"Good night Ryuzaki.."

L's P.O.V.

"Just.. please sleep soon. I'm worried about you, ya know.." And with that she left me be. I tried to go back to work, but for once in my life I couldn't focus. I tried stacking sugar cubes, and eating more candy, it did nothing to help me regain my focus, like it normally did. Her words keep ringing in my head.

"I'm worried about you, ya know"

Aside form Watari, no one had ever worried about me. About my work, perhaps, but not me. Soon, Light was the last thing from my mind. My eye lids grew heavy, and I reached over to pour myself another cup of coffee. Before my hand could even reach the cup, I pulled it back. Maybe one night of sleep wouldn't kill me..
