3rd person POV
Rantaro took a sip of his drink checking the time on the wall of the diner. Realizing how long he and Kokichi had been there. They got her at 5 and it was now 9, he was honestly surprised that the owners hadn't kicked them out. He leaned on the slightly shaky table. He tapped on Kokichis shoulder. "Kokichi I think it's time to leave," He said," we just got here!" he couldn't tell if Kokichi was joking or he really lost track of time, if he did Rantaro couldn't be mad at him so it didn't matter either way.
" we've been here for 4 hours" Kokichi looked outside at the now dark sky. "huh I guess we have! I always lose track of time around you, my beloved" Kokichi joked. Rantaro rolled his eyes "come on I'll walk you home" He stood up taking Kokichis hand. A faint blush spread across Kokichis face as he stayed silent. "Bye! See you again!" the lady behind the counter waved them goodbye.
Rantaro let go of Kokichis walking towards the directs of Kokichis house "hm? Never knew ranran had the guts to hold someone's hand." Kokichi teased "but by judging your reaction, you can't take someone holding yours" Rantaro shoot back. Kokichi huffed skipping alongside Rantaro as the neon lights from the diner faded out leaving only the street lamps.
The walk was silent which wasn't usually but still welcome. They were almost home when Rantaro noticed Kokichi was shivering a bit. It was noticeably cooler than earlier and even Rantaro could admit that it was weirdly cold for a night in the early fall. He took Kokichis hand again but as a response, Kokichi hugged Rantaros arm. "Are you cold?" Rantaro asked despite the answer being obvious "huh? What makes you think that?" he hugged Rantaros arm tighter.
"nothing" they walked for a little longer before Kokichi let go of Rantaros arm running ahead of him. "I can go the rest of the way!" he yelled coming to a halt "are you sure?" Rantaro asked just loud enough so Kokichi could hear. "Yup! Call me when you get home!" Kokichi yelled again before running off.
