“HME is now in the verge of declaring bankruptcy.” Those words make me stop on sipping my own milk. I stare at her for minutes, seems like I can’t find a perfect word to speak. She sighed and leaned forward, enough to have a close distance from the two of us.

“Don’t say this to anyone, please.” She looks at me pleadingly. With our close distance, I can’t help but notice those dark circles surrounding her eyes, seems like she never have a good sleep for this past days.

“What’s wrong? What happened?” I’m also curious on why HME are close to bankruptcy now. I mean, we’ve been doing well for the past years. We don’t even have a problem with the ratings and income.

“I don’t know what exactly happened but, some big investors pull out, and that greatly affect my company. How is that? I can’t clearly remember if I did some horrible things to offend my investors, but I think none. Ang sama nila Sophia, iniwan nila ako sa ere.” And that’s when she starts crying like a baby, seriously?

“May paraan pa ba?” She sighed again, a very heavy breath.

“There is, and I think that’s the only way to solve this problem.” But I can see that she’s not happy on the solution she got on mind. I notice that she’s hesitating.

“Come on, just speak up.” and seems like that’s her cue to speak.

“Alam mo namang HME is just a small company right? But that doesn’t mean that we are independent, we also have a sister company.”

“And the only effective solution that I have is to merge with them.” I don’t know why but it feels like she’s not happy with it.

“You’re not happy. Why?”

“Merging with them means they will have an access to all our operations, even you.”

“’Yun lang ba ang problema? Come on Harmony, mas iisipin mo pa ba ako keysa sa kumpanya mo?” Now I doubt if she’s really a CEO now. I can’t help but to roll my eyes when she looks at me with tears.

“Alam kong hindi mo gustong pinapakealaman ng iba ang buhay mo. Ipapaalala ko lang sa’yo mahal kong talent, if we merge to them, lahat ng schedule mo, personal info, will be pass to them. At alam kong hindi nila hahayaan na lagi ka na lang nakatago sa dilim. They will definitely introduce you to the world. You’ll do music videos, concerts, interviews, your life will be share to the world. Will that be okay with you?” What’s the point? Nahanap na rin naman niya ako. Kahit anong gawin kong pagtatago, he will definitely find me, wherever I go.

“It’s okay as long as your company will be safe.” I smiled at her. She was there when I was all alone. She helps me to stand when I feel like I can’t walk anymore. And she’s the reason why I have this kind of success. Without her, I’ll be nothing.

“Thank you. Thank you so much Sophia.” I frowned, I’m not really into physical contact.

“Okay na.” I patted her head two times dahil parang wala pa ata itong balak kumalas sa yakap.

Harmony is older than me for 5 years gap. And yes, she’s the CEO of HME where I was working with. It’s just a small company since ako lang naman ang nag-iisang talent nila. This was build three years ago, sabay ng pagkadiskubre sa akin ni Harmony.
