Fabio Hollis💛

An undeniable smile made its way to my lips while reading my soon to be finished book. This book is special to me, that's why. My eyes followed every single word over the drafts. I heaved a deep sigh as I stretched my arms that seemed to numb by the long day. I'm here sitting on my personal desk in my mini-library. It's not that big and well known but enough to earn money for my everyday life. My eyes avert its look on the kid, probably looking for books to read. I stand and walk to the wondering kid. He's probably looking for comics and cartoons.

"Hey, big guy. Are you looking for some books? We have fables here, wanna read it?" I said and he beamed a smile with joy on his eyes. I love kids who love books. Okay, that's a lie, I love every kid. They're blessings.

My eyes widened at his response. "Yes, Ms! I'd love to see it!" He said. Gosh, do I have boobs to be addressed as Ms? I decided to smile and hide my annoyed face.

"Follow me then, big guy," I said. There's no way I'll force him to address me correctly. Kids are annoying, but I love them. We made it to the back shelves, kids' section. Picking the book he pointed, I hand it to his hands and smile when he squeals.

"Thank you, Ms. Librarian!" He smiled cheekily as I pinched his left cheek. He immediately ran to the table and cooed at his cuteness. He might be annoying, but he's not rude.

I turned to walk back to my seat to finish my drafts. A bit polishing and it's good to go. Sipping my coffee, I hum softly at the soothing taste of the caramel and milk. My eyes followed to the window as I looked at the busy street. Up to the breezy trees and to the sky that seemed to be swallowed by dark clouds. Seems like it's going to rain, the skies tell it all. I narrowed my eyes at the kid and immediately walked to his desk. I looked at him and smiled, he looked so passionate about reading. I tapped his shoulders and he looked at me.

"Hey, big guy. You can have it, go home. Don't want you to catch a cold." I said and he frowns. His shoulders slowly dropped and I hissed at regrets when I saw his eyes start watering.

"Hey, big guy. Why are you crying? Did I say something?" I said, getting in my knees as I wiped the tears on his cheeks.

"I...I don't want...I don't want to g-go home." His shoulders are starting to shake and he sobs. I sit on the kiddie chair beside him and thank the heavens I'm quite small so it doesn't bother.

"Oh, why is that? Where's you, mom?" I asked him as he looked at me with puppy eyes. His cheeks are flushed and nose is now red.

I frown at his sad response. "They w-won't be a-at home until n-night..." He said, bowing his head. He must be lonely. I smiled at him and ran back to my desk. I pick up my coffee and cookies. I walk carefully and see his shoulder stop shaking. I sighed and sat back, again.

"Working?" I asked and he nodded. "Do you have siblings?" I handed him the cookies and I chuckled when he licked his lips.

"He's b-busy, working..." He said, shyly taking the cookies. I smiled when he looked at my coffee and I immediately offered it to him. "Thank you, Ms." I facepalm. Gosh.

"You're welcome, big guy. I'm not a Ms." I said and his eyes widened in shock. I snickered softly and pinch his cheeks. I sip at my coffee and sigh.

And not a second, I choked at his response. "I'm sorry, Mrs! I thought you're still a Ms." Oh my God, help me with this kid. I thought he got it. Calm down, Fabio. He's just a kid.

"I'm not a Mrs nor a Ms, big guy," I said and chuckled at his puzzled look. Bless this kid. "I'm a guy, like you, silly..." He stares at me from up and down, like examining something.

"Ooh, okay. Sorry, I thought you're a Ms." He said, scratching his nape at the embarrassment. I haven't asked for his name yet.

"What's your name, big guy. I'm Fabio. Fabio Hollis, the owner of this little library." I said and sip my coffee.

"My name is Bonnie. I'm seven years old." He said. What a cute name that is.

"Great, you can stay here, but you need to tell me your address so that I can get you home," I said and his eyes twinkle in joy. He's so cute.

"Thank you, Mr. Fabio! But, I can just call my bodyguard. He will drive me home." He smiled and finished the cookies. I mumbled a 'welcome' and pinch his cheeks. Okay, I don't have to worry then.

"Just call me uncle Fabio. I'm not that old, just twenty-three." I said and he nodded. He muttered a thank you and I stood up. I still need to finish something.

I return to walk back to my desk with my mug and immediately start to work. It's not a lot, just checking stocks, arranging the books, and cleaning the mess. Most of them are from kids. I looked at my bookshelves, consisting of eleven of my books. Their copies are sold, thankfully. At a young age, I finished my degree in arts. Thank God, I did. I grimace at the wall clock to see it's 2:35. I still have lots of time.

Hours passed and the bright sun's golden rays are now replaced by the gloomy autumn. I stretched out my arms and let out a yawn as I looked at the window. Gosh, it's raining cats and dogs. How am I going to get home? I'll just sleep here, it's my library after all. Just as I'm about to stand up, two giant men suddenly walk in, it's his bodyguards, I think. They looked at me with nothing but cold eyes and stayed professional. I freeze at my position and smile.

"Are you Bonnie's bodyguards?" I asked, examining the taller one. One thing I hate in this world is being so small.

"Yes. Where is he?" He asked and I swallowed the lump, forming on my throat. Why is he looking at me like that? I didn't do anything.

"H-He's there...At the kiddie section..." I said as I pointed my fingers. He immediately walked in and I saw the other, mumbling a sorry. This one is kinda, better than him. I just smiled and sat back.

In no time, they're back with Bonnie on the taller one's arms. He fell asleep. I waved at them and muttered a 'thank you for coming'. I sighed and pressed my fingers at my temples. A long day it is. Pulling up my bag, I stood up and gathered my things. I looked at my phone to see it's 6:20. Oh gosh, I feel bad for the kid. He fell asleep and I didn't even check him. I make my way to the stock room and immediately lock the door. Oh God, I need a rest. But, I can't. I need to work.

Deciding to close the library, I made my way to the front and locked everything that needed to be locked, safety first. Oh, I need a bath now, I wanna sleep. I feel so tired. I walk upstairs and unlock my room. It's an extra room that I bought so I can sleep. I immediately make my way to the bathroom and strip as I hop in the shower. I brushed my teeth when I finished showering and immediately headed straight on my bed. I'm too tired to wear anything. Besides, I'm the only one here.
