I immediately made my way up to the street once I locked the Cafe. Thankfully, it's not raining because for some reason, I didn't bring my umbrella with me. I need to go visit my stray cats and feed them. I won't miss it for the world, it's their first month being held by my manager. Have I told you that I'm also working with stray cats' veterans? I think so. I have an unexplainable fondness for them, they're cute and such a sweetheart! Heaving a deep sigh, I smiled and made my way down to the street even though it's a bit dark here. It is the only short path to go, it sucks sometimes.
I started to walk faster when I felt eyes, staring at my back. It's weird, I know. But, it's just freaking me out for some stupid reasons. Loud barks filled my ears when I stepped on the sixth signed street, and I grip on my shoulder bag as I urged myself not to run. I know them, if you run, you're dead. A heavy sigh broke its way from my chest and I smiled in victory when I saw the shelter's bright light. My eyes furrowed automatically when I saw my Manager's back when I entered the backdoor. I saw him, crying at his seat, making me raise a brow.
"Um, Sir Johnny. Why are you crying? Are you okay?" I asked and mentally hissed when he looked at me. Shit, he's not. Why did I even ask when he's crying.
"Do I look okay? I'm not, Fabio." He said while standing before going to his desk as I followed.
"What happened, Sir? Is it the shelter, again?" I asked calmly, knowing that this shelter is nearing bankruptcy.
"Sadly, it is. I'd be fine if the buyer is into cats. They badly need a shelter." He sighed and I made my way to the kindergarten.
Tiny meows filled my ears just as I entered the room, making me smile. I carefully crouched down and they immediately ran onto my hands. They look healthy and perfectly fine, meaning they're still in care. Sir Johnny made this shelter, especially for kittens. His daughter kinda hates them because sometimes, they stink. I swiftly fished out the cat food that's inside my shoulder bag. Thankfully I brought enough, the adults will have too.
"Enjoy the food kittens. Don't worry, I'll make sure that you won't be kicked out of here." I mutter softly while running my hands on their fluffy fur before exiting the room.
Walking towards the other cats, I immediately entered the room as they meow and meow, making me chuckle. The others are busy playing while the others are sleeping on their mats. They look so healthy now, and sadly they're getting their owners soon. I gave them food one by one and immediately exited the room, knowing that they would just run to me. I sighed and stretched my arms, they're tired too. I flinched when my phone suddenly vibrated inside my pocket. Rubbing my thumping chest, I picked up when I saw Anson's number. "Hello, Anson. What's up?"
"I'm fine, just a bit tired. How are you doing today, huh?" He asked through the phone, making me shake my head in disbelief.
"You really called just to ask how I am doing? Do you perhaps want to tell me something?" I chuckled and zipped my bag as I made my way back to the counter.
"Well, actually I have something to ask. Something like... Um, I don't know. Does it hurt when you have that... You know, that--I mean, well, I want to try it with him." I heard him ask and I feel my cheeks turning hot.
"W-what do you mean, Anson? Why are you asking this to me? I've never had a boyfriend, so duh? Google is there for a reason, you know? Gosh, but make sure to use protection!" I said while looking from the left to the right. Thankfully, no one's here.
"Oh God, sorry. I'm so stupid, I forgot that. You know what? You need to find one, or else I will find someone for you. You're not getting any younger, Fabio. You need to get laid too." He explained seriously, making me roll my eyes.
