It's been a year, and what Emily said to Alex at the end of her first case turned out to be lies. Reid didn't "grow to love" her. He just learned to hide his hatred well, as to not get in trouble. He spoke to her only when he needed to, and vice versa. They were simply co-workers, nothing more or less, and neither of them minded that. Alex certainly proved herself as a vital part of the team during the past year, and she is now finally starting to feel comfortable and at home.

The elevator doors opened and Alex looked up, but was scared half to death when she discovered Emily and Penelope standing in front of the elevator doors waiting for her with party horns in their mouths and a little sign that read "Happy 1st BAU-iversary!"

Alex grabbed hold of her chest, as if she was having a heart attack, and bent over in laughter.

"Here we got you this," Emily handed her a pin.

"You guys are so annoying! Move! I'm not putting that on," she giggled as she slid past them

"You guys are so annoying! Move! I'm not putting that on," she giggled as she slid past them. Her lingering smile quickly faded as she made eye contact with Spencer, who was standing in the kitchen stirring his coffee. She ignored him as always, and let her bag fall off her shoulder as she sank into her chair, already overwhelmed with paperwork.

A couple minutes later, Alex felt a presence in front of her, but she didn't lift her eyes from her paperwork until a cup of coffee was placed on her desk in front of her.

"Thanks Emm-" she started, but soon realized that the figure in front of her was none other than Spencer. He said nothing, and started walking back to his own desk 5 feet away and sinking into his chair with his own cup of coffee.

"What did you put in this?" She asked, genuinely confused. Now she knows Spencer wouldn't be stupid enough to try and poison her inside of a Federal building, would he? Not very smart for a 'doctor.' He ignored her question completely and sunk into his chair.

"Hello? Whats in this?" she nagged.

"Coffee," he responded plainly, opening up a folder full of paperwork.

"What else?" She stared at him.

"Sugar. And cream."

She narrowed her eyes, reluctant to drink it. She brought the cup up to her lips, and took the tiniest sip.

"Happy 'BAU-iversary.'" He added, mocking Emily and Penelope's little show by the elevator.

Alex couldn't help but crack a smile at Spencer's very random act of kindness. She shrugged it off and went back to her work.

Spencer was even surprised with himself for bringing her coffee. He just figured "why not?" after a full year of them being bitter to each other, he might as well hand over an olive branch. Besides, it's just coffee.

JJ gathered the team into the briefing room before leaving again to let Hotch and Rossi know she was ready for them.

Morgan took his seat at the circular table, he had been late.
