Author's note

I feel like I have to say this: my characters are not representative of a populace.

This is true even for Olivia, but I kind of want to mention this for Emily too simply because some of Emily's behavior and responses to her own issues is not typically what people experience, or at least it's not often mention in mainstream media (which is fair because most people don't experience it). While I can understand some people not understanding or may mistaken some things, I hope this note at least would give allow you to give me a benefit of doubt (that being said, I do make mistakes).

Therefore I want to say this again—Emily is not representative. She's a bit out of the norm. Just as not every depressed individual hates humanity, she is also not representative of every person with perfectionism problems, suicidal problems, etc. I write characters based on who they are more than who they represent, so I hope this note clears that out.
