It was another Sunday two months later when Tanish found the woman back at his doorstep. He frowned at the quivering mess standing in front of him. She was dripping wet from head to toe in her signature pink hoodie. In fact the hoodie was the only reason he recognised her.
"It's raining outside" she explained the obvious, pulling the hoodie off her head. Her messy bun had hair stuck out in every direction. There was more hair floating around than contained in the bun.
Tanish nodded absentmindedly, still taking in her disheveled state " May I help you ?" She looked like she was in a state of emergency.
"I came by on Wednesday" she went on "The security told me that I can only catch you on a Sunday"
"You are shivering"
She smiled sheepishly "My car broke down two minutes away from here. Google said its a two minute walk. It took me five"
"Are you crazy?" Tanish looked at her, bewildered "What kind of emergency would force you to do that?"
"I didn't think it would be this bad" she said defensively, her jaw rattling comically.
"What-" he huffed, grtted his jaws and glared at her. He took in her appearance. From the top of her bun to her ugly sneakers, she was dripping water "Wait here"
He turned to rush to his closet to bring her a towel before realizing that she needed more than just a towel. He turned back to look at her again and then at the door opposite to him. He hesitated for a moment before walking over to his neighbor's door and ringing the bell twice. He took a step back and waited.
"Umm what are you doing?" the writer whose name he couldn't remember asked him.
"You are wet. You need to get out of those clothes before you fall sick" he explained.
"Oo-kay" she hummed just as the door opened.
"Hey" The woman at the door smiled softly at Tanish and looked over his shoulder curiously
"She needs to borrow your clothes" he told her without preamble.
"And who's the she who needs to borrow my clothes?" she raised a brow
Tanish frowned and looked back at the writer for answers.
The writer rolled her eyes dramatically and grinned at the woman at the door "I'm Kashvi. I work with his family's publishing houses"
"Shreya" the woman at the door smiled "I am the ex who has no clue why he thinks its okay to bring a woman to me and demand I clothe her" she smirked at Tanish.
Tanish frowned "I don't have clothes that will fit her. She is really small"
Kashvi barked out a laugh "Oh my god! I am so glad I took up your sis-" her sneeze cut her words short.
"You really need to get out of those clothes" Shreya agreed and huddled her inside. Tanish followed.
He waited in the living room while the women went to Shreya's bedroom.
Shreya walked out a couple of minutes later and took a seat on the couch opposite to him.
"You are a liar" she told him "You have clothes that would fit her in your apartment. I know because I left those clothes there"
"I barely met the woman. I don't think she would have been comfortable changing clothes in my bedroom"
Shreya rolled her eyes "You know how to break my heart so well, Tanish. For a moment I thought you wanted to make me jealous by bringing her here"
