Closer or Further?

It was you and Kei kuns first year at secondary school. You an Tsukishima Kei were still as close as ever. You were also still close with Tsukishima Akiteru senpai, but he moved overseas to finish his schooling years there. After the incident with Kei kun he couldn't face y/n and Kei kun everyday. All though you knew what happened, your admiration for Akiteru senpai still didn't change. You loved him and looked up to him, he was kind, gentle and caring. To you that was all that mattered. You knew Kei kun took it hard the most. He acted different from from that day. you seemed to notice that he was different. He acted cold and harsh to others, except you. He always jumped to protect you. This caused you to develop feelings for him over the years you spent with him. He would put a asshole act in front of everyone. But you were different, you were the only thing that made him believe that human were still good in heart. But it didn't last long. The more he was close to you, the more he couldn't trust himself, he was used to the tough act, he started acting that way to you. You noticed it, it made your heart ache, you cried after he would throw insults at you. You couldn't cry in front of him because it would hurt him. So you decided to suffer in silence was the best way to keep your childhood friend from another heartbreak

" Keiii kunn, wait upp." y/n ran and cached up to her tall best friend. Kei kun let out an tsk and waited for you to catch up. "What is it shortie?" y/n bent down to lean on her knees while she cached a breath of air. "Kei kun, my mum baked you some strawberry shortcake" she handed him his favorite food. His eyes widened and his expression turned soft. "Thanks shortie, tell your mum my mum wants to meet up tonight." he turned and started walking. Y/n started speed walking to catch up to Kei kun. "thats not fair tsuckiee, I told you to stop calling me short. I'm average height. You're the one who's frekishly tall" y/n stomped while pouting. Kei kun turned to face her and stopped. Y/n was confused. "tsuckiee?". " Didn't I tell you I would make your life hell if you called me that." with that his face turned into an evil grin. Y/n knew that look, and sprinted away from her best friend as far as she could. As she ran her heart was beating fast, but it wasn't because she turned into Usain Bolt. Her heart was beating like crazy before she even ran away from Kei kun.  She shook her head and entered the library, she wanted to read some books while it was their lunch break.

Y/n plopped herself onto a chair with a stack of books in her hands. As she picked up a book from her pile, a girl came and sat opposite her. The girl started to furiously unpack her things onto the table and sighed "I could be playing volley ball, but nooooo I have to study." The word volley ball rang around in Y/n mind. She slowly put the book down and introduced herself. "good morning, my name is L/n Y/n. I couldn't help but over hear you talking about volley ball." The girl opposite her, suddenly changed her expression, her eyes glistened. It almost looked like starts were forming in her pupils. She started to interrogate Y/n. Y/n felt uncomfortable with the sudden questions, but since it was about volley ball, she warmed up to it and answered the girls question. After a while of interrogating Y/n, the bell rings. The girl stand and rushes to pack her stuff. She turns to y/n and stares. " Are you ok?" the girl quickly snaps back to reality, " sayyy l/n chan, you any good at eng/ maths?" the girl looked at Y/n with concerning eyes. "Well. yea I guess. My best friend made sure I was on top of my studies. haha he's kind of a nerd" the girls eyes glistened and she immediate jumped to hug y/n. " Pleasee tutorr me" the girl pleaded. " Well first you need to tell me your name. And also give me your contact and your schedule" the girl realizes and bows and says. "forgive my rudeness, My name is Hitoka Yachi, First year in class 4." 

The friendship started between the two girls, turns out Kei kun also found another friend. His name was Yamaguchi Tadashi. You all started hanging out. Everything was fine, you felt that nothing else could ruin the relationship between the four. Y/n's feelings for Kei kun was even stronger, only her female best friend knew about it. Yachi chan encouraged you to tell him. But the fear of your relationship ruined stopped you. You were happy, so very happy, but that was all to come to an end. Because all good things must come to an end.
