~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Chapter 1:
The summer is flying by.
Moving from New York to Trenton is just a mess. First my sister, Molly, accidentally packs her favorite dolls and throws a huge fit until we unpack every single box. That wastes five hours. Then, the movers arrive to our house late pushing us back by about four hours.
After we think that everything that could go wrong already has, the clock that has been in our family for three generations is broken while being moved to the truck. My mom is distraught at the fact that our clock is broken. After I try to calm her down, things seem to get better.
...
We have just crossed the New York state line, now things area moving to 'terrible' instead of 'ok'. from being ok to terrible. Our car has started to make weird noises then all of the sudden, we hear a loud crack, which wakes Molly from her short-lived slumber. We pull over to the side of the road and I get out to look under the hood. As I open it, a cloud of steam rises from the engine. I then look around the engine, I will say for one thing that I am not remotely close to being a mechanic, but I do know that there should not be oil dripping on the top of the engine. The huge moving truck pulls over behind us, as the men get out and assess the engine, they say that out car will
have to be towed. Slightly annoyed, my mom went back into the car to get her phone, only to witness that she had no cell signal. Wonderful, now we have to walk at least five miles to the nearest cell booth.After what seems like hours, we finally made it to the cell booth. My mom hangs up says that man on the other line said we would have to wait half of an hour for the truck to come. Another long wait.
...
The truck finally rolled up to take our car. The driver looks and says that the engine overheated due to lack of oil. He says that it needs more oil and some time to cool down. Well that really calmed my mom down. We would still have to pay the fee to have the car towed, but not as much as we anticipated for the repairs. Then after what seems like days, we finally arrive in Trenton.
...
Two days later Mom tells Molly and I that our father was coming to visit so we needed to "prepare". I could not even fully remember the last time I saw my dad. I would like to say that I was around 6 or 7. Molly must have been 2 or 3. Wait a minute mom also said that we would be going on a family vacation together. The location: Hawaii. I thought that Hawaii was supposed to be paradise. It doesn't look like it's going to be this time around
