I flinched and whirled around, my eyes wide. But when they locked onto those warm, caramel orbs, my fluttering heart skyrocketed and my entire body felt like it might melt at any moment. Here, standing right in front of me, was the very reason for the strange feelings and odd thoughts that had been floating around in my head all day long.

I had barely registered what he said, I was too lost in his dreamy gaze. But I don’t think he really minded either. A small smile graced his angelic face, his eyes warm and kind, but still slightly guarded. He had the look of a man who held many secrets.

And that just made me want to get close to him, to push down those walls and learn every little secret he held within him.

I don’t know how long I had been standing there just looking at him, watching him. It could have been minutes, hours, days, months, years for all I knew. But I just couldn’t seem to look away from him. It was like he was the very reason for my whole existence, my very reason for breathing, for living, for existing at all.

But I knew that it was the polite thing to answer so I forced my mouth to open, to say something.

“Hi…”

………….hi………..really Lux! You’re literally standing in front of a God in men’s clothing and all you can possibly think of saying is hi!

All Jasper did was chuckle slightly, the sound ringing heavenly around me, making me want to lean closer and bask in the very essence that was him.

But I deemed that a little weird especially since we had just met and all, so I refrained from doing so.

‘God! What’s wrong with me today?!’

I just couldn’t think straight with him so close. So I took a step back and felt my back hit the lockers, casting my gaze away from his. I doubt I’d be able to actually talk to him if I was caught in the middle of his gaze, trapped there. Though to be honest I didn’t mind be trapped within his gaze. It was nice just looking into his eyes, I felt safe and warm.

Odd right?

“Hello. Like I said, I’d thought I’d come introduce myself. Emmett told me about how he had met you earlier, then Edward. So I’d thought I’d come introduce myself next.” He held his hand out to me, making me look briefly up at him. I hesitantly placed my hand in his, letting engulf my own.

The way he spoke was different from the way other teenagers would speak. It was formal and polite, the kind of speech you’d find an older man using. And he had this underlying accent to all of his words, like he was from down south somewhere. It gave him that Southern gentleman charm that you couldn’t find in men now a days.

“It’s nice to meet you. I’m Lux.” The feel of his cold skin felt heavenly against my own, my hand fitting perfectly in his.

But instead of shaking it like I thought he would, he leaned down and brought my hand up to his lips, softly kissing the backs of my fingers. The feel of his soft lips, brushing against my fingers literally sent shivers throughout my entire body, and that wasn’t because of how cold his skin was. I mean really, it was like he was literally a human icicle, his skin cold as snow in the middle of winter.
