Ashley's POV
The tequila shots, Taylor Swift blaring from the speakers, polaroids...God, can I return to last night again?
Even though I was suffering from a may-jor hangover.
But I had used up all the days I could take off from work already, even though it was still July. So I was moaning and groaning like an old lady as I struggled to fit inside my jeans and threw on a big ol' shirt.
'Ashley, let's go,' my roomate Sara said, looking as cute as ever in her short green hair and dark- framed spectacles. Like the good girl she was, she restrained herself to just three shots. How do people even do that?!
'Okay.' I grabbed my tote bag and followed her to the car.
'You look horrible, ' she said, glancing at my face.
'Thanks for reminding me. Anyway, it doesn't matter. '
'Cause it does. There may not be any guys your type at work, but you still gotta keep up the image. Who knows, maybe The One may march right in soon enough, ' she winked.
Oh, the irony.

Andrew's POV
My first day of work and I was already running late, no thanks to my girlfriend who insisted on driving with me over to the office even though I was the one who had to wait for her to get ready. Women. But I love her so freaking much, nothing really overrides that. It was hard even for me to imagine that I would get attached to such a gorgeous lady. I was always the quiet geek at the corner lost in my own thoughts.
I beelined for the elevators hurriedly, willing for it to descend. When a familiair ping sounded, I rushed headlong into it, narrowly missing a girl who was holding a cup of hot coffee.
"Ah!" a tiny shriek emitted from her as I zipped past her.
I grimaced, mentally slapping myself at the back of my head. No time to show concern now, Andrew. I quickly took the lift up to the top floor, where my new boss was probably on the verge of firing me on my first day.
Knock, knock.
"Come in."
"Mr Peretti, I apologise for my punctuality." I winced. "I have no excuses."
"I'm glad you decided to be honest instead of skirting around the truth. Anyway, Andrew, I just wanted you to take a tour around for a bit before you settle in proper, but I just sent Ashley down to get a coffee for me. So, why don't you tell me a little about yourself?"
"Um... well, I worked at a diner as the manager, but I quit because it wasn't what I was looking for as a long-term career." I said. "I'm really happy to be working here actually, it's pretty much my dream come true." I confessed, hoping that my boss wouldn't think I was BS-ing just to get into his good books or something.
"I'm happy to hear that, Andrew, and I sincerely hope that your time spent here will be worthwhile." Mr Peretti said, his eyes crinkling as he smiled. "Ah, there she is."
I turned around to face the girl whom I'd bumped into just sixty seconds ago.
