You ever heard the story of The Wolf Lady?

No.

She wanted to go and play with all the other wolves. So she did. But they clawed and bit at her. One day she met other wolves who came to be with her. But they were older and weaker and did not play. But she still wanted to. And so she did. She jumped and leapt at them...but her claws pierced their skin and bled. She laughed with them...but her sharp fangs dug into their soft bodies. And they bled.

So what happened?

So...they moved across the river where her sharp fangs and strong claws could not hurt them. They continued to talk with her and enjoy her company...but she grew restless and lonely. And finally a great choice presented itself before her: And knowing that they would never cross the river to be with her again...she finally left. And she never returned. They tried to stop her. But no matter what, they could never pierce the harshness of her thick and coarse fur. And she could never have from them what she truly desired and what she had twisted in her fraught mind:

What's that?

The trust and companionship of another wolf. Just a...connection. A real, true connection. She became...lost. And no one ever found her again.

Maybe she just didn't want to be found.

Yeah, maybe.

Maybe someone can find her again.

No one ever sees her. No tries, no one searches. No one cries for the lost.

...

I do...

Four bodies...expedition had five...fresh tracks...look at me...that woman's still out there, isn't she?

You want to find her, I get it, I want the same thing you want...but not at any cost...

We're all of us...wolves, out here...

Careful Liam...we're between the wolves now...

Neona, come back to us Neona, please?

What if I can't? What if I don't think I want to anymore?
