Last time: It was not long after breakfast that Miss Tia got a call on her work phone about three dogs that had been abandoned and one of them matched Nolly's photo. Tania then explained that they had put up a Facebook post and missing dog posters about Nolly. I was getting my puppy back!
Josie's POV:
I couldn't believe it I was going to be getting Nolly back! I raced back to my new room and grabbed Nolly's travel crate, her favourite blanket, her collar, leash, her favourite toy (it's meant to be a monkey but it has no tail and looks like a bear).

I put all of Nolly's things into an empty backpack before carrying her crate outside. Miss Tia smiled when she saw that I had Nolly's things and that I was ready to go and get her. Miss Tia, Armando, Moe and I got into Miss Tia's car and she drove us to the abandoned house where the dogs were. During the drive, I got out Nolly's blanket and put it into her crate before adding in her favourite monkey bear toy. When we arrived I took out Nolly's collar and leash. I copied Miss Tia in the way she had the leash that she used for rescues hanging Nolly's leash like a sash. I put Nolly's collar into my pocket so I could get it out when we got Nolly. I carried Nolly's crate and followed Miss Tia.
We went into the back garden of the abandoned house. Miss Tia had spoken to a police officer before we went in. As soon as we went through the gate I spotted Nolly. "That's Nolly! Over there" I said happily pointing to her. "Can I try to get her to come over to me?" I asked, "she might remember me". Miss Tia nodded "be careful if she starts showing signs of aggression get out of there" she replied. I nodded and moved a bit closer to Nolly. I sat down and put her crate next to me. Moe gave me some treats to try to get her to come to me. I opened the crate door so that once I had her I could put her in it. I took Nolly's collar out of my pocket ready to put it back on her again.
"Nolly" I called. Her head went up and I could see that she knew who I was and that she recognised her name. "Come here, come on pup, it's me, Josie. You know me, it's okay, come on" I said softly. I took out Nolly's monkey bear and gave it a squeeze, it squeaked and Nolly's ears went up showing me that she recognised the toy. She slowly came over and was watching me. Two seconds later she was running over to me. She jumped into my lap and started trying to lick my face before she tried to grab the toy. While she was distracted with the toy I managed to loop her (my first loop!) while apologising for letting her get taken from me. I managed to get the bear into the crate before showing Nolly her collar. She put her neck over the collar, knowing that it was her's. I put her collar back on her, smiling. I had my puppy back! Now that she had her collar on I took off the loop and attached her leash to the collar. Very carefully I picked her up and put her in her crate. Once she was in I shut and locked the door. It was official, I had Nolly back.
I slowly got up so I didn't scare the other dogs and walked out of the garden. Moe was waiting for me, "I got Nolly!" I told him happily. "Josie that's great, she's so cute!" he replied. I smiled "I know she is, I also did my first loop! I took off the loop after I had her collar back on so I could attach her leash to her collar" I told him proudly. Moe had a big smile on his face when I told him about the loop. "Josie that's great, you'll have to tell Mom about it!" he said proudly. I nodded and smiled "I will" I replied.
It didn't take long for Moe and I to help Armando and Miss Tia to catch the other two dogs. The other two dogs were both Pitbulls, one was a mama dog and the other one was a puppy. The mama and baby were both black with patches of white. "I think the puppy should be called Patches and the mama should be called Star as the white patch on her forehead looks like a star" I suggested. "Great ideas Josie, Moe told us you did your first loop, well done!" said Miss Tia.
"I did the loop when Nolly was distracted by her favourite toy! She's in her crate! I got her! I'm so happy that I've got her back!" I said happily. Miss Tia and Armando smiled and I could see that they were both happy for me. "That's great Josie! I'm so happy for you. There are some rules thought if you want her to stay in your room with you" said Miss Tia. I nodded, "I know, I'm going to take the best care of her meaning feeding her, cleaning up after her, making sure she has water, playing with her and walking her. She is going to be getting the 5 star Josie treatment! Now that I have her back there is no way I'm going to lose her again, I'll even save up my money and use it to buy her food, wormer, flea and tick stuff. I'll also make sure to check and update her microchip" I said happily. They laughed when I said about the 5 star Josie treatment. "Don't worry about the wormer, flea, tick stuff and the microchip, we can help with that but thank you for taking responsibility and saving up to buy her food, it is a big help" said Miss Tia.
"I'll even help to buy things for the other dogs like toys and blankets, I know my dad (biological) left me some money so I can use that to help out" I told them. "I'll think about it" Miss Tia replied. "I think we should get these dogs back to the shelter" said Armando. I nodded and helped to put the dog crates in the car. I got to put Nolly's crate in by myself. I was so happy to have her back again. Miss Tia drove us back to Villalobos where everyone was waiting. Tania and Mariah helped us to unload the dogs and I got my backpack and Nolly's crate out. Very carefully I carried Nolly's crate over to Tania and Mariah "we got her! We got Nolly! And I did my first loop!" I told them excitedly. "You did? That's great! Well done Josie!" Tania replied.
Once we put the Mama dog Star and her puppy Patches into a kennel I asked if I could get Nolly out of her crate. "Sure you can, go for it" was the reply I got from Miss Tia. I knelt down by Nolly's crate and carefully opened the door. "Come on Nolly, out you come" I said to her gently. She padded out of the crate and straight into my arms. I picked up her leash and held her in my arms. "Here she is!" I said showing the others proudly. "Awe she's so cute!" said Mariah. I placed Nolly on the ground and picked up her crate, "I'll take her inside and show her around so she can get used to being here" I said before leading Nolly inside. I spent the rest of the day with Nolly at my side. I also introduced her to King and they got along so well.
That night I fell asleep knowing that I had Nolly back and that she was never leaving me again!
