It was 8 pm, Louis would walk out of the door any minute. Ryan and I were sitting at the table near the edge of the place. The skyline looked magnificent and the stars aligned themselves brightly in the endless night sky. The place was calm, quiet and lovely with not much crowd.
Ryan was very excited for two reasons. Firstly, she was deeply moved by the fact that she will be meeting one of the most renowned people in the world. She was never a hard-core directioner, but she gives the respect they deserve. Secondly, she'll know the cause of my sorrow. I was a bit nervous at the start, but now I made it clear, I have to share my pain.
"D, look there" she pointed towards a group approaching us. Yeah, they were Louis, Liam, Harry, Niall and Zayn. I didn't expect all of them to come along. Harry and Louis were back as to how they used to be, the brotherly friendship, I missed it too much. The conspiracies tore them apart, it created the longest distance and made it hard for them to be who they actually are.
The seven of us sat around the table after greeting each other and introducing Ryan to them." I didn't expect everyone would be coming" I said. "Yeah, I told them you know, they'll create chaos and disturb you by playing around. But I was forced to bring 'em, these lads won't listen to me sometimes." Louis rolled his eyes. "Nothing like that, it will be fun," I told him. Rest of them smiled and at the same time looked at Louis with a what-the-hell look. Finally, Liam lost the staring competition and said, "Louis talking about 'chaos', look at this twist lads." Different sorts of laughs surrounded the air, Niall's was the loudest. We talked about - well, I wasn't talking much - several things. Ryan was good at continuing the conversation, she was talking about India, her graduation and about me. She told them how I used to fangirl over One Direction, the way I chattered loads and loads about them, without a pause during college. They made up random jokes, It was really embarrassing. Harry and Zayn explained how a tour works, the places they visited all these years. Louis spoke about his solo career, how it made his confidence rise and the changes that took place in their lives. A few jokes in the middle made the conversation more lively just as how teenagers spend their free time after school.
We had our food and, I thought it's time for the reveal. I don't know, I feel dramatic, maybe because these amazing people have come to help me out. "So guys'', I interrupted their mini conversations. My hands were rested on the table, my eyes couldn't stand any eye contact, so my hands were the ones focused upon. Louis to my right and Ryan to my left, I had my strength. "Everything began 5 months ago in my hometown..." I started.
5 months earlier
A walk down to the coffee shop and a well-made coffee was everything I needed for this day. The pleasant mood was disrupted by desperate screams. I followed the sound, it was heart-wrenching to listen to it and I wasn't ready to face it. A small room was situated behind a bakery, as I entered that room, the vision was disturbing. Bloodstains were all over a young boy, he lay on the floor half dead. His face covered with wounds, clothes were dirty and torn. A group of four stood around him with confused expressions, maybe they didn't expect anyone to come here.
"What do you think you are doing?" I asked the guy who stood in the middle.
"You don't have any work here, get outta here" he came closer and pointed at the door. "I want your answer. What are y'all doing to that kid?" I asked with a firm voice. "Get out before we change our minds to something bad" he threatened me with devilish looks. I walked out not from the place but only from their sight. I placed myself against a wall beside the door. After a while, I silently took out my phone and started recording the scene, he started hitting the boy with an iron bar and the rest of them kicked him. The howls given out by him, made my heart sink.
After capturing a video in which everything seemed clear, I went to the cops. They were really furious about it. They promised me that they would go to that exact location and save the boy. I headed home, my heart swelled with sorrow and hope.
The next morning something unexpected arose, all the news channels headlines said the same: 'An 8-year old found dead near a garbage bin.' It was the same boy I had seen the previous night. This is critically unacceptable, this cannot happen, the police just can't leave it like this. Anger dominated by sorrow, I explained to my mom everything and left for the police headquarters. I was offended by their arrogant answer. One of them said, " You are a liar. Do you think all of us are fools? There was no one behind that bakery, we checked the places around it too." "What do you mean? I had shown the video, it was clearly visible" I said. "I don't know. Don't waste our time with unreal things" he walked to his cabin.
All of my questions came into one place and they made no sense. What does he mean by 'there was no one'? What happened to that boy? How is the news related to this? Wait, wait, wait. Was everything real that occurred last night? Was it real or...
