your eyes dart around nervously as you walk home
you jump hearing a screeching noise behind you only to find a cat running away
bringing your hand up you clench your heart in fear, tears well up in your eyes as you rush home
running through the door ignoring your family in the kitchen you make your way to the study
where is it
you hastily move books back and fourth desperately
your eyes fall onto the dark leather book with gold linings
pulling it out you dart into your room locking the door before ripping off your mask
pacing back and fourth you stare at the book resting on your bed
the gold calligraphy staring back at you
The Masked Laws Of The Pit
you sigh grabbing your phone
"hello?"
"I found it"

immersed in your thoughts you barely hear the light taps on your bedroom window
"y/n open up"
you rush towards the window to see Jungkook standing on top of a stone at your window
quickly glancing around making sure nobody is watching you open your window letting him jump in before closing the window and curtain
he unstraps his mask placing it on your nightstand before staring back at you
the feeling of looking at each other's bare face was still terrifying
yet looking at him somehow comforted you in a way you'll never understand

without a word you pick up the book patting your bed for him to sit next to you
"I'm scared" you say quietly
"I know" he says looking at you with comforting eyes as he hold one of your hands helping you open the book to the first page
The History Of The Masked
The masked was created during the Lee-hyu dynasty thousands of years ago. Lee-hyu Min Shiyuk, Emperor of the Lee-hyu dynasty created a tradition in order to surprise superficial opinions and judgement.
After the death of Min Shiyuks father, it was his turn to rule our society. Except when Min Shiyuk was named emperor he was criticised for his look being told that rather than looking like a king he looked that of a servant or lower class man.
He was also criticised for not having the good looks of his father passed onto him which then led to rumours of him being adopted or conceived with another woman.
Min Shiyuk began living in the shadows in humiliation, he rarely attended public occasions and he never spoke directly to the public. During the new year where it is compulsory for the emperor to address the public he had his servants make him a mask.
This mask was beyond beautiful and still till this day kept in the Masked museum of Min Shiyuk

Once the public saw his mask they began praising him, saying that the mask was beautiful. He even met his wife while he was masked.
It intrigued him as to how they were now praising him after discrediting him and that he had found love without a face.
He began a tradition in which every single person who had not married was to wear a mask in public.
Over the years the laws of the Masked has become strict.
The Pit
Min Shiyuk did not create The Pit as people may believe this is a myth. The Pit was only created 200 years ago by Choi Jaed.
Choi Jaed was a man of great honour and believed that taking off your mask before marriage called for consequences. He would even beat people that he knew that took of their mask without being married in public.
With a solution he thought of The Pit.
Nobody can exactly say what The Pit is like as the Unmasked are not in contact with the Masked
The last we've heard about what The Pit is like from the famous Kim Yee-hee who escaped the pit, She described it as
'It's hell, If you do not believe in hell you will once you're in the pit. It's like they rip your soul out of your body and put it back only to beat it out of you again and again. They killed my son, My son didn't want a mask melted on his face so he fought back and they killed him. What kind of world is this'
only 5 minutes after Kim Yee-hee said this she was captured and not only thrown back into The Pit but put into a cage.
If you are reading this to know what The Pit is like you can only imagine how Kim Yee-hee lived. Nobody has been able to exactly show us or tell us what The Pit looks like but whatever it does look like, It's worse then what we may think.
