The hazy grey sky mushed and blended into white clouds, and the police officer's, now chief's, shoes thumped rhythmically with his heart each time he stepped forward. The bipolar weather seemed to take shape of his emotions at that very moment. Yes, he was filled with longing and want, and need. He needed Tang Yi in his arms once again, one more day and he felt as if his heart would surely shrivel away. Yet, at the same time, he was scared. What if Tang Yi didn't love him anymore? Perhaps jail had changed him? What if he came to some epiphany that Shao Fei no longer belonged with him.
The chief officer couldn't help but pace back and forth outside of the courthouse now that the well-anticipated time was drawing near. The wet gravel beneath his feet echoed each time he turned and continued and his hands were shaking violently each time he raised them to check his watch.
Perhaps he should've taken Zhao Zi's offer to accompany him. He stated he wanted to see Tang Yi alone, but now he was regretting that decision.
It's been 5 years... but it wasn't as if the two never saw each other. Shao Fei showed up every day to talk to his lover. It didn't matter what kind of weather they were having, or if he had to leave work early; even on days when he couldn't see Tang Yi, he still showed up. That was the extent of his love. That's how much he'll give for his boyfriend, and more. He'd give his life for him.
Shao Fei looked down at his watch again. It was noon. Where was Tang Yi? He should be coming out-
As the chief officer looked up, he swore everything fell into slow motion. The large ebony doors of the courthouse opened and out came his beautiful God-gifted man. In his black suit and his matching tie... looking stunning as ever. Shao Fei almost couldn't believe it was really him. He ran forward quickly just as the older man opened his arms for an enveloping hug and he fell right into them releasing the tiniest sob.
Both of the men fell to the ground, not caring about the uncleanliness of it all. They finally were in each other's arms.
The embrace calmed Shao Fei's troubled heart, and Tang Yi leaned down to kiss all of the younger's tears away. He pecked at the former's cheeks, nose, and forehead repeatedly until Shao Fei chuckled through his tears, but he noticed Tang Yi was also crying.
"I missed you so much." The older man couldn't keep his voice from wavering desperately. "I thought about you every single day. I-" There was so much they both wanted to say but they couldn't stop freaking crying! Being able to be within each other's presence was too overwhelming.
"I know." Shao Fei gripped Tang Yi's body and pulled him impossibly closer. "I know baby." Their foreheads touched, and they looked into each other's eyes before belatedly drawing closer until their lips touched. The kiss was slow, passionate, and needy. Shao Fei felt his knees buckle once Tang Yi clutched the back of his neck and moaned feeling their tongues clash against one another.
With a sigh, they reluctantly drew away from each other but kept their foreheads together. "I love you," Tang Yi started.
"I love you." the chief officer whispered, "but we have to get off of the floor sometime."
They both chuckled and sniffed, but neither wanted to be the first one to pull away, not after such a long time apart. Upon realizing this, they chuckled again and Tang Yi leaned forward pressing more kisses to the younger's face and lips until he stood up and carried Shao Fei with him.
"Are you hungry?" Shao Fei asked. "Is there anywhere you want to visit? I'll do anything." He couldn't help but be generous. It looked like Tang Yi's feelings for him didn't age a day while he was in prison and that was something to be grateful for.
