The elves of Hogwarts

A new year a new life

"I can't believe that were back already,"mcgonagall quietly whispered to her self on her way up UK the head mistress's office. Filtch had finally finished cleaning up the castle after the battle of Hogwarts, it was painstaking work and the students would be arriving soon. Mcgonagall got to her office and started going through the list of the names of the first year,when she suddenly heard a noise behind her and spun around drawing her wand and pointing it at the source of the sound out of pure instinct. She was surprised to see a tall man with long dark hair and pointed ears standing in front of her. He was wearing strange robes that she didn't recognize and it was obvious to her that he was not of this world."who are you? Why are you here?" She shouted. He explained to her that his name was Elrond, he was a friend of Dumbledores from another world much different from her own and he had been sent to find three of her students. She slowly lowered her wand, only then did he hand her a letter that Gandalf had addressed to her.

At this point Phineas Nigelus (the father of serious black and previous headmaster of hogwarts who had died and currently resided in a painting)had woken up in his portrait because he heard mcgonagall start to read the letter out loud. He transported to his outher portrait that currently resided in Hermione's purse(that she now toom every were with her) to tell her that she Ginny and Luna were to report to the headmistress's office after dinner. Hermione,Harry,Ginny and Luna were in a train compartment on their way to Hogwarts. The mood in the room was anything but happy because this was the first t ok me that Hermione and Harry would be returning to the school without the companionship of their close friend Ron.

Ron had recently been murdered when he was caught by snatchers after abandoning Harry and Hermione due t ok the locket horcrux. All of a sudden hermione heard a muffled sound coming from her bag and pulled out the portrait of Phineas Nigellus. He then told her,Ginny and Luna to report to the headmistress's office after the feast. Hermione could tell from the way he spoke that it was extremely important business and she became nervous "what did we do wrong? Does this have to do with Ron? Why is it only Ginny,Luna and I and not Harry?"she thought

The feast was delicious as always but the same black banners that adorned the hall when Cedric died gave the meal a more somber manner. They were up out of respect for the great witches and wizards who died protecting the castle only a few months ago. Hermione noticed that a man with long dark hair,pointed ears and strange robes sat at one end of the staff table. She thought she recognized him at first glance but then quickly shook that thought out of her mind.

Hermione, Ginny and Luna made their way up to the headmistress's office after the feast. They arrived at a statue of a Griffin placed in an alcove in the stone wall, Hermione said the password "Tabby" and the statue slowly moved up in n a spiral,revealing a winding staircase. The three girls walked up the staircase and entered the office Hermione was surprised to see the same strange man she recognized at the feast."students, I'm afraid I have something very shocking to tell you"said mcgonagall. "Umm,well this is difficult to explain but this is Elrond the elvin lord of Rivendell. He has come from another world called Middle Earth to collect you three." They had never expected this and Ginny looked stunned "what do yoh mean another world?"a she asked. "There is no time to explain." Mcgonagall said,"Go back to your dormitorys and pack, and come back here after your done."

Hermione,Ginny and Luna quickly began to head up to their dormitorys. As they were walking hermione handed both Ginny and Luna a bag that she had pulled out of her purse. "What are these for?" Luna asked "they are bottomless," Hermione said "I always keep a few extra with me, you'll be able to take me with you now." "I wonder if they have unicorns in this new world too." Luna said randomly." Seriously Luna that's what you're thinking about now!" Ginny said to Luna "well I'm just trying to be positive. This is a lot to process you know."said luna.

Hermione ginny and luna walked back up to the headmistress's office after the finished packing their things. "Are you ready?" Mcgonagall asked. "Yes" Hermione said anxiously.
