Using the light of the moon, Evgenia made her way to the forest. The village was so quiet, just the sound of the wind and the voice singing out to her could be heard. Just like Evgenia had anticipated, it was muddy and very musty.
She could feel her boots sinking in the thick mud.
The thick air made her nose congested, she could barely breathe.
The witch continued on, the mysterious voice growing louder and louder. It truly wanted her to come to the forest for whatever reason.
The closer she went, the more... entranced she became. Evgenia was still aware of her surroundings. She knew she was walking, stepping in dirty gross mud, and following the light of the moon. But at the same time, it was like the witch couldn't break away. The voice was practically dragging her away.
Slowly she made her way to the forest.
The tall trees were dark, looking down at the girl like silent shadows. During the night, the forest had a whole entire new look.
Unlike the day, where it looked majestic and peaceful, the forest was daringly mocking. The shadows moved, either by an animal or by some strange being. The height of the trees didn't help ease the tension the forest was giving off.
In fact... Evgenia could feel it. The closer she went, the more she felt the magic. There was magic, she could feel it. The magic must've awakened during the night.
Now here she is, standing at the entrance of the forest. Before her lay a dark path practically daring her to enter.
And she wanted to.
Slowly, Evgenia took one small step into the forest.
And then she quickly regretted it when a bright light lunged at her violently.
Evgenia had seen it, quickly jumping out of the way.
"Gah, fuck-" She hissed, feeling blisters on her knees. Evgenia's head snapped up, her eyes widening in pure shock and disbelief as she saw a tendril of sorts waving in the air. It was... made of a pure blank white light.
It had to be witchcraft. Only witchcraft could ever muster light like that.
Evgenia stood up, only to get thrown back as the tendril whipped at her. The witch felt the air escape her lungs. She crashed on the ground, groaning at her head snapped back hard on the ground.
Looking up, she saw more strands of light growing from the forest. The cracks in the trees glowed white as well, almost blinding Evgenia.
Great, the-whatever-was-calling-her was trying to kill her!
Evgenia stood up and brought up a shield, grunting when the strands of light began to fiercely whip against her magic. Evgenia gritted her teeth, pushing hard against the strange magic attacking her.
Quickly, Evgenia teleported out of there.
As her vision clouded in white, Evgenia could feel something go wrong the moment it felt like her body was being forcibly pulled away.
In the blink of an eye, Evgenia found herself tumbling in the dirt. Feeling bruises forming on her body, Evgenia groggily looked around and saw that... she was still at the forest entrance.
She... No way... She was sure she had teleported back to the inn.
Evgenia closed her eyes, trying again.
Just like before, Evgenia felt her body being pummeled and she was once again, thrown out of her teleportation and hit against a tree. She flinched when a light struck, stabbing the tree was against. It was just centimeters away from her head.
