"Pardon Mr. Fairman, kindly repeat the question."

Just then the bell marking end of the lesson rang, bringing the session to an end. She breathed a sigh of relief 'saved by the bell' was more like it. Kathleen was the first to ask her what was going on with her.

" Are you OK Sammy?, you've been distracted since you came and most of the lesson you had zoned out!''

"Nothing am good, just Luke checking up on me to see if Polly gave me mechanical issues. I had an issue yesterday night almost got stranded on highway 65." I lied.

"Oh no, did you call tow company?" Lisa asked worriedly.

" Unfortunately that route had poor reception, so i couldn't make any call." she answered.

Brooke who had been listening told them of a story.

" you guys, this reminds of a story i saw on CNN of a family that got stranded in the same route. It was so bad for them since they had two small kids and it was raining cats and dogs that night. The reporter said only two vehicles passed there but non stopped to rescue them. The kids were so cold that they had hypothermia by the time they were rescued the following day by good Samaritans."

" My God, that is just sad. Didn't their car have any heater?Sammy asked.

"Their car had a battery issue, since it was flat they couldn't heat up the car. It was such a sad story. Count yourself lucky. By the way, how did you manage to fix Polly?''

" A guy named Matt helped me out."

"Was he cute? " asked Lisa enthusiastically. too enthusiastically if you ask me. She is such a hopeless romantic.

"I didn't notice." i lied. If i had said yes, and that he wasn't just cute but i was crazily attracted to everything about him, well not everything ,almost everything, i cant ignore his arrogance and smart mouth remarks.this ladies i claim are closest to my heart would have a field day. Unknown to me, my face had taken another shade from thinking about Matt. The three of them were looking at me with a weird look like they don't believe me even for a single moment.

'Are you sure he ain't a tall glass of something sweet for you? You shade says otherwise."Brooke said.

"Come on Sammy, spill." Kathleen said.

" OK i admit he is kinda cute but that quality is overshadowed by his arrogance."

"Sammy and Matt stuck on the road fixing a car K-I-S-S-I-N-G." Lisa sang mimicking a children rhyme.

"What are you five?" i asked.

We all busted laughing. This day was promising to be fun filled. Kathleen reminded us of our dinner come dance date at 7 o'clock that evening. i called my colleague at the diner i worked and changed shifts with him. He was such a cool guy, i always admired his relationship with his girlfriend Mandy. They are now engaged but had dated for almost five years. Titus that's his name, always treated Mandy like treasure something i was always envious of. Wish i will also get i guy who will always go a mile for me.

Sammy got home informed her parents of her plans with the girls, dashed to her bedroom and prepared herself. Somehow today she thought she could play with light makeup and see the effects, may be she could finally get someone to ask her out. As she was about to leave, her phone vibrated from her clutch bag and on seeing the caller ID her heart couldn't stop the drums of her beating.

"Hi Matt?"

"My amazon warrior,. What happened to i will call back?"

"Am so sorry, i got caught up."

"What did you want to say and why am i am amazonian?

"Wanted to correct my pay? somehow i get the feeling you are a miser." he said ignoring the amazon question.

"Who? Me? a miser? I'll have you know am considered a generous person?"

"How generous? Who have you been generous to?"

I got the feeling that there was a sexual innuendo in his statement but i chose to ignore it. On the other line Matt's PA brought him his other phone as a text had pinged in. It was one of his friend who was in town and wanted to see him before he left as he was in town for a meeting. He developed mixed reactions since he really wanted to see Sam today but also he wanted to catch up with his buddy. its been six month since they had seen each other.

" Matt, i know i owe you and i will pay up. If you don't mind eating in a diner, i could buy you early dinner tomorrow say 8pm at Frainsco diner on 5th street." she posed the question waiting for his answer.

"Its a date then." With his confirmation Sammy cut their connection and called a cab. It arrived shortly, She gave directions and the cab driver and he started on his way. Enroute she confirmed if everyone has arrived and all were waiting on her. They grabbed a bite in a restaurant while Lisa told them of how Jonathan her long term boyfriend had proposed to her. True to her word she was wearing the ring that evening. We knew it would happen but still it was a shocker for us, I was the first person to recover and asked;

" Give us the dets, did he go on one knee? How was the set up?" she laughed and removed her phone' Jona knew this would happen and recorded everything for you guys and for us for reminiscing in the future. Here is the video. He wanted you guys to be part of this milestone in our lives. The video started playing and we all became teary eyed. Jona had outdone himself this time. This what love is.

"Speaking of surprises, Sammy you are looking hot tonight. One might mistake that you are going for a date with the mysterious Matt." she joked.

"She even applied make up!" Kathleen added.

"Stop it guys, i just wanted to spice up my look tonight. There is nothing to it. Stop overthinking."

Brooke then broke the news that her brother who works as a DJ at club Pentagon a premium club had given her four tickets for the night. we were ecstatic. This club has a three month waiting list. I wasn't wrong, today will be fun and i have dressed up for it.

We took an Uber and arrived at the club. Security was tight and the atmosphere was out of this world. I bet my pay will end in this place due to the price tags on the drinks. Kathleen who was already an intern in a re known company said she will foot half of our bill then we split the balance among the three of us. The cocktails were very sweet and since i was a light weight i started feeling the effects so i excused myself to to the ladies. May be the walk and a water splash on the face will at least help to sober me up,

Almost to the corridor i bumped into something hard and braced myself for the fall, the fall did't happen as i was held by strong arms. The scent of the hard surface gave me nostalgia, where have i smelt that scent?

"The least you could do after knocking someone is apologise." He released me so quickly from his arms like i was something rotten. The voice was very stun and authoritative like Matt's. Lord help me even in my high state he pops in my mind. i need a Mattox.(Matt detox)

"Am so sorry," i said, lifting my face to look at him. What met me we the emerald eyes that are haunting my dreams.

"Matt?"
