Chapter1: Who is Peter hale really?

All Peter Hale wants now is revenge. Revenge on a certain spazzy overly sarcastic human. Stiles. First he refuses the bite, then he sets Peter on fire, then he tries to turn his daughter against him, and Peter is fairly certain that it was Stiles' idea to lock him up in Eichen House.

Peter knows he's crazy. He accepted that a long time ago. But he never expected to end up in Eichen House. It's a setback yes, but Peter always has a plan. One way or another Stiles will pay.

Peter refuses to admit that he is jealous that Stiles chose Scott instead of the bite. If Stiles had taken the bite, the little shit never would've set him on fire and Peter would still be the Alpha. Regardless of how annoying the teenager can be, he has to admit Stiles would be a great companion. The lanky pale boy dotted in moles was not to be underestimated. He is technically the reason Peter died in the first place. He's far more intelligent and dangerous then his friends give him credit for. Stiles was always the first to figure things out and would always put himself in the line of fire for his ungrateful friends but never for Peter. He isn't jealous. He's not. Peter is furious.

He thought he and Stiles had an understanding but the cell he sits in says otherwise. Maybe his logic is fucked up. In fact he knows it is. He knows it makes no sense to other people, but he doesnt care. It makes perfect sense to him. He thought stiles could be the one person to understand him. To see that he wasn't all bad; just misunderstood. Stiles was the only person who could stand toe to toe with Peter and that impressed the older man. He understood why stiles set him on fire, that one is a given. He just didnt understand why he would turn Malia against him before he even got to know her. Peter may be cold and seem emotionless, but family means everything to him. Back in Mexico he originally wanted the Alpha status for himself but changed his mind. He tried getting Malia to kill scott, so she could be the Alpha. So she could be strong and powerful. He wont admit it but maybe he just wanted to know that she could always protect herself. And what better way to protect yourself then being an Alpha Werewolf?

He is a ruthless monster but he still has feelings. He refuses to let anybody in. To let anybody see his pain would mean he was weak. The fire weakened him for the first and last time. Six years stuck inside your own head can make a man insane. Watching your family burn to death doesnt help either. It would be impossible for anybody to come out of it without a bit of psychological damage.

Its not like hes heartless.

Hes just heart broken.

Deep down he just wanted somebody to understand him. Deep underneath that cold, deadly, vicious shell, was a man who is afraid. Afraid of letting anybody in, afraid of loving, and most of all afraid of being weak.

Stiles makes him weak and he cant allow that anymore.

So instead of trying to redeem himself and get out of Eichen house with good behavior, he turned it off. Turned himself off from the world. He wont let his feelings get in the way anymore. Next time around he will take the Alpha status for himself. He will do whatever he has to to make sure he is never weak again.

Stiles will never see peter for who he really is underneath it all. He will see him only as a monster. Well Peter has no problem with showing Stiles how much of a monster he can really be.
