Another bleak day. The sky was just as blue as normal, the wind as light as ever. Everything was always the same in this city.

Girls walked past Diana with gleeful eyes, bright pink and red lips, flowy short dresses to show more than just an ankle to the men. Their hair was always in a sloppy bun or just hanging loose. Sunglasses laid on their faces and their toenails were almost always painted. Diana knew this all too well because nothing ever changed.

But she liked that about the city. Nothing changed, nothing could go back to the way she used to live. Everything was calm and normal here. The city of L.A.... God how she both hated and loved this place.

Her hate came from the fact she had bad memories of some past relations here. But she loved the place for its sights and the fact that it was a safe place for her.

Diana Romiaz, 21 years old starting last month. Her life for the past 3 years had been pretty calm after she moved to L.A. Of course she's had her exciting moments and heart ache here. But she didn't think about them often. She just lived like the rest of the people here, hoping to forget about her past and her mistakes.

Whilst she walked through the city, she listened to all the noises around her. The sounds of children at the school, girls gossip and laughter, the sounds of cars honking and sirens blaring. Everything here, to most would sound like normal city noises or just annoying sounds to the ears. But to her, it was all one big symphony. A beautiful masterpiece made by the very gods themselves, hidden through intricate keys of the world. Only those who wished to hear it, were those who listened to the notes. This was home to her, and she'd rather be no where else.

Her destination was in front of her after about five more minutes of walking. Though her old job was tiring, she didn't mind the extra "activities" it had. Here at "The Giant Gold-Fish", it was as bland as a literal goldfish and just as annoying to take care of. The building was new to an extent with bright red and orange bricks for the outside. The Windows were usually in circles of various sizes. The flowers in the pots outside were always marigolds. Nothing changed here. Which made her feelings to things staying the same contradict with how utterly boring this was. Sometimes, when you go to a work place filled with news reporters, gossipers, and an annoying little brat named Sally....you kinda wish they would add a new color to the flowers. A perhaps a new pattern on the curtains. Just...something to distract her from her co-workers.

She walked past the giant glass doors and was immediately cringing at the amount of un harmonic noises that were awaiting her further inside. The further she went the more she had to keep herself from frowning at it all.

"Morning Diana! Here for another work shift again? " The lady behind the counter asked. She was a kind lass with silver grey hair and the sweetest eyes. Wrinkles lined her sun touched skin due to age and just how much sun she gets. She always had a bowl of strawberry candy at her desk for anyone who wanted something sweet. She was probably the only person she could tolerate in this pit of whispers.

"Yep, gotta keep working till you achieve what you want." She smiled at the old woman. Her name was Ms. Sophie, but most called her Granny or Grandma Sophie. Diana took her card and swiped at a scanner, showing that she was here for another shift. The scanner beeped and turned green, meaning she could go in.
