“So Alex did die.”

Mrs. Romanos looks over at me and shakes her head, “No she didn’t die, she almost did. But the medicine we gave her sort of re-animated her immune system before the virus could take full effect.”

“But we saw her die in the basement, with all the wires and stuff. She was like KJHAKSJDHKJ and we were like OMFGKJHSFIKHFKJLIFHO:IS” Says Zayn as he makes these faces and his hands fly about.

“What you saw was not her dying, but her heart restarting itself to better adapt to the medicine fighting the virus in her body. Like a computer reboot.”

We are all in the living room standing around Alex, who is peacefully sleeping on Harry’s lap on the couch. Although we have no idea what has happened to her, you can tell in how Harry’s eyes have not left her sleeping face he doesn’t care what has happened. Only that he has her.

Which is cute, but also makes my gag reflexes act up.

After she magically came back to life again she soon started to “reboot” and we went through the whole crazy seizure thing. Instead of freaking out about who had medical experience reaching beyond band-aids, Harry swept her into his arms and ran her upstairs to where he meet a groggy and quite furious Mr. Romanos who’s first reaction was to choke the life out of Harry until he realized his daughter was in his arms having a fit. I never knew the man had such a colorful vocabulary.

He ordered all of us about, clearing the couch to lay Alex down, who was still thrashing about,  to run upstairs and get towels and to run back to the basement and get more of that colorful liquid in the tubes—once we got everything he and Mrs. Romanos got to work helping Alex get through her fit. Alex passes out, but at least her heart didn’t give out like the first time.

“Wait, this isn’t making any sense. How do you even have medicine to even combat this virus thingy? It’s only been a couple weeks since it hit and there has been no reports of a cure. Even if there was I’m sure you guys wouldn’t be first on the list to get it. No offense.” Questions Liam, a bit sheepishly.

“Oh there is no official cure, hell we didn’t even know if what we were putting into Alex would save her, but it was out only chance. Luckily it is working- with a few kinks of course.” Says Mrs. Romanos as she pets Alex’s head.

“Yeah but what did you give her? And where did it even come from? Cures don’t fall from the sky.”

“My Father was a biochemical engineer, he worked for the government performing experiments and creating stuff I could hardly begin to understand. He was a genius.”

“That sounds really convenient to our story plot.” Mutters Liam as he looks of into space.

“Liam who are you looking at?” Asks Louis as he peers in the direction Liam is looking.

“Our readers.”

“Okay…” Says Mrs. Romanos with a questioning look, “ Anyway, I say was because as he got older he became a bit eccentric, he began peeing on fire hydrants and growling at the neighbors among other things.”

“Well those do sound like symptoms of someone who has become completely mad as a hatter.” Mutters Louis

“He also predicted the Zombie apocalypse.”

“Kim, you did mention something about that didn’t you.” Asks Liam.

“Mhm.”

“Well he was spot on with that one, he could have made some mad cash gambling eh?” Says Niall as he nudges Zayn and winks.
