"I don't know if you're blind or plain stupid but there's a whole line of people waiting for their turn. So I suggest getting in line," I say to him, letting go of his arm. I don't know if it's my annoyed tone or if my words shocked him or whether he hadn't expected to be reprimanded, but it's pretty clear he didn't expect anyone to say anything to him. I feel Fred and George sidle up behind me, siding with me despite the fact I'd just met them.

His eyes take in the boys behind me, then go back to meet my cobalt gaze, a sneer on his lips.

"Do you know who you're talking to, you filthy mudblood?" He snaps. His voice is rough, on the edge of that plunge into manhood. It was just as attractive as the rest of him, though what he'd said made my blood boil. I keep my face perfectly calm as I tilt my head, raising an eyebrow.

"I won't even begin to explain how derogatory that word is, but I'll tell you this, it doesn't matter if I'm a mudblood or a half-blood or a pureblood - get in the bloody line," I hiss at him. He stares at me for a good long moment. Everyone around us has now turned to watch silently, taking in the confrontation. I narrow my eyes at him.

I don't know what emotions flash through his eyes, but they flicker through one after another as he examines me for a moment as if debating something. I smile sweetly at him and point to the back of the line. A couple of people hoot, and I start to turn away from him - dismissing him - when he opens his mouth.

"You'll pay for this," He hisses so only I hear, then stalks away and back to his compartment. I watch him for a second longer then turn back to the front as chatter rises up around the three of us.

"That was brilliant!" George grins, looking down at me, clearly impressed. "It takes some pretty large balls to stand up to Malfoy like that," He says to me. I laugh, shrugging.

"I can't stand people like that. I've seen too many of them at Beauxbatons and I don't think I can stand another school full of them," I say. Fred throws an arm around my shoulder, grinning widely. "Besides, I think the look of pure shock on his face was worth the gossip this is bound to entice."

"Wait till we tell our brother Ron how you put big bad Malfoy in his place," He smirks, wriggling his eyebrows at me. I chuckle.

"You guys have a brother? Are you triplets?"

"Oh no, Mum would have probably had a heart attack if there were three of us. No, Ron's our younger brother. We've got five siblings, one of whom is a girl, much like yourself." George tells me as we reach the front of the line. He gestures go me grandly. I stifle the smile.

"A girl? You don't say," I laugh.

We reach the trolley then and all conversation turns to whether you can feed chocolate frogs other candy and if that would change their taste. I tell them that's animal cruelty but they wave me off. I settle on the cauldron cakes and the chocolate wands. The majority of the sweets on the trolley I haven't seen before - so I pick one of everything.
