THE CURSE

Chapter 15

Selena paced back and forth in her living room. Her friends, Anna and Alex watched her. Selena paused, throwing her arms in the air in annoyance and groaned

"Where the hell is she?!"

It's been two weeks since Jacqueline disappeared. After the incident with Jackie, the next day at school, Alex grabbed Selena and Anna into an empty classroom and told them what happened. Anna's big eyes widened in horror as she let out a series of gasps while Selena had a blank expression on her face. She knew something was wrong but she never expected this.

The friends were in Anna's house. They've been looking for Jackie for a while. They couldn't find her anywhere. It's like she just..disappeared? They were really worried about their friend. Selena knew Jackie more than anyone and she knew Jackie wouldn't just leave without a telling them goodbye. Then again, Jackie was the monster terrorizing the town so Selena probably knew that's why she left. The question now is where did she leave to? Of course there were other questions but those would come later. The important thing is the wellbeing of her friend. And that's when she realized something. No one was reported missing in the two weeks Jackie had disappeared. Her aunt probably didn't look for her, as expected. They haven't even seen Jackie's home. She snapped her fingers

"We haven't checked Jackie's house"

"We don't even know where she lives" Anna sighed

Alex nodded in agreement
"She only said the shortcut to her home was through the woods."

Selena hummed tapping her chin. She snapped her gaze to Anna" Do you still have Gerald's number?"

"G-Gerald? I-I did. I don't anymore" Anna stuttered. Her face red. Alex smirked

"Really?" Selena drawled, raising a brow at the blushing girl.

Gerald Fisher is a boy in their grade that Anna had a massive crush on. He's the nephew of the principal and captain of the basketball team. He liked Anna too so they were dating. Gerald had to move but Anna still texted him and called him.

"I still have his number" Anna said looking down as her friends smirked at her

"That's good. You can ask him for a favor"

"What favor?"

"Since he's the nephew of the principal, he can help us get Jackie's address" Selena explained

"What if he refuses?"

"He won't"

"How do you know that?"

"Gerald really likes you. If it's for you he'll totally do it" Alex winked making Anna blush harder.

"Okay fine. Can we stop talking about Gerry now?"

Selena raised her brow "Gerry?"

"You know what. Never mind"

An embarrassed Anna grabbed her phone and scurried out of the living room.

"She's so cute" Alex laughed. Selena hummed in agreement. She sighed

"I'm scared for Jackie"

"We all are. We'll find her" Alex assured squeezing Selena's hand gently. She smiled softly

Just as Alex predicted, Gerald got them Jackie's address. Well..not them. He got Anna Jackie's address. The friends stood on the porch of Jackie's house. The house was a bungalow with a white roof and its walls were painted a vibrant green color. The lawn neatly mowed and the little garden at the backyard was delightful. Selena couldn't believe Jackie lived a total nightmare in the seemingly homely environment.
