Chapter one: The Walking Dead

"So. Where are we going?" I asked, finally breaking the silence. My dad glanced at me and back at the road. "It's a surprise. So there is no way I'm gonna tell you." Dad replied, with a slight smile on his face.

My dad really wasn't that good at keeping secrets. But he wasnt as bad as well. I turned my head to the window, resting it on my palms and started counting cars. '1008, 1009, 1010' suddenly three police cars were going with full speed down the road. 'its probably some gangs' I thought. I continued to count cars again.

"How long till we get there?" My brother. Tryvas, whinned, not taking his eyes off his Nintendo. "Com'on where almost there" My dad replied, with a mocking tone.

I'd have to say we've been in the car for hours and it's a pretty long ride for a birthday surprise. '1023, 1024, 1025, 1026' I counted. Suddenly six police cars crosses over my window, and they went the same direction where the other police cars went.

"What do you thing is happening back there?" I asked. My dad shrugged his shoulders. I reached my hand for the radio, just to see what's happening.

"Breaking news, an scientist named- error- spreads through the city- error- this is live from CNR" The radio wasn't speaking well, there was an glitch in every word. I didn't get what it said, but it said what it said.

"What!?!-" My brother was cut off by sirens of the police cars again. But this time a S.W.A.T. team bus was also there, with many police cars surrounding it. 'okay this is definitely serious!' I panicked through my head.

"Maybe it's not safe being out, let's just go home" Tryvas said, worring himself. 'i mean the radio was working anymore, police cars were outside my window, and we're inside a long ride to dad knows where. It's definitely seriously, serious!' I did have a point there. But my dad didn't respond, he ignored my brother, and continued to drive.

"Dad?!" I yelled. And he's still driving.
Ignoring me. 'what kind of birthday surprise is this?!! Why isn't dad answering does he knows this was gonna happen is this a prank. But then how would he get all those police cars and a S.W.A.T. bus it's definitely not a prank, also how did he get the radio glitching...unless a professional did it. No, no, no, no, this is all wrong!' I thought.

"I'm calling mom!" My very smart brother said, but didn't give himself a moment to think that mom's also in on the surprise dummy. Suddenly my phone rings, I looked at the caller (*it reads* mom). Without hesitation I answered her.

"Hello, mom!" I called out. It toke a few seconds before she replied.

"Hello, Tris. Hello, Tris are you there?" She answered I could hear children and screams from her side of the line.

"Hello, mom. I'm here, can you hear me. Hello!" I yelled to the other side of the line. I could hear cars beeping their horns. It must be a long traffic there.

"Hello, tris. I can't hear! You have to listen to me. Listen to my voice, I need you to come home right now okay. Tell your father it's not sa-- there okay come home dear, come back okay!" My mom yelled because of the loud noise that's happening on the other line. But also her voice was glitching just like the radio. I don't understand. It's a new phone.

"Why?- mom. Mom? Mom are you there?" She hanged up before I could finish what I was saying. I looked at dad and Tryvas with a worried expression wored on my face right now.

"What happened? What did she say? where was she? And why were you yelling?" My dad started throwing questions at me. He was so focused on me then the road. Before I could answer or reply to his questions.

"DAD?!! WATCH OUT!!!" Tryvas shouted, pointing his finger at the front window from his back seat. I looked to where he was pointing at. But we already hit it. Someone?. Or something?

The car jumped out of the road, and down the hill full of tress. It was rolling through all of the trees. There was nowhere my head did not hit. I did feel good, pain was everywhere in my body. I felt my eyes lids getting heavy.

I blacked out.
