Robbie
I kept my promise to Noah, and finished episode three of the new season before falling asleep relatively early by my standards around 2am. Although I went to sleep so late, my body woke me up just shy of seven thirty in the morning, and despite my best efforts, I just couldn't get the lie in that I know I needed. I can already tell without speaking to Quinn (who has had no trouble at all having a lie in) that my throat is sore, and my voice is no doubt going to be rather grating to anyone.
I look over at the shape of his body curled up within the hotel duvet in the dull, early morning light sneaking through the curtains. He got in for the last fifteen minutes of the third episode, and although he got ready for bed quickly and slipped under the covers, I caught a glimpse of his beaming smile. The date went well then. At least, that's what I hope happened.
I get out of bed and go into the bathroom, filling up and reusing the small complimentary cup in the bathroom with tap water multiple times, downing its contents every time in a single gulp. My throat feels a little better after that, but I know that my voice is going to be really scratchy tonight. I hate that bit of man flu I always seem to get after travelling with a burning passion.
I check my phone on the bedside table, plugging it in to charge as I scroll through the notifications which grow each day, still surprising me every time. Noah responded around an hour after I'd fallen asleep this morning, and I open his message. Reading through it makes a smile grow on my face. This is the best thing to wake up to, and hearing him say how excited he is to be joining me and my family in Mallorca is even sweeter.
I'm equally surprised to hear that Finn Wolfhard had asked about me, and the possibility of his band collaborating with me or opening for one of my shows. I'm fairly certain I can make that happen -- I don't have an opening act yet for the final night of the tour at the O2, but it depends if Finn and his bandmates would want to travel that far out.
Checking the time, I know that it's going to be the early hours of the morning in the US, and although Noah is more than likely to stay up super late on his phone, he did say he was tired in his text. So maybe it's best that I don't text him yet.
Quinn stirs slightly under his covers, and I look over towards him, not expecting to see any movement from him till at least noon. His eyes have flittered open, and he looks around the room in a daze until he spots me hunched over my phone. He sighs, rolling onto his back and stretching laboriously.
'Hng-- what time is it?'
'Seven thirty. Ish.'
'Nope. I'm going back to sleep.'
I put my phone back down and sit up on my bed, fixing him with a cheeky grin.
'Date go well last night?'
'Shut up. I'll talk about it when I'm not tired.'
'So... you guys kissed then?'
Quinn groans in annoyance, rolling onto his other side so that his back is facing me.
'Talk later. Words... hard.'
I decide that I can always annoy Quinn later, and give him some much needed rest. My phone buzzes on the table, and I check my lock screen. Cade wants to know if I'll be joining them for breakfast. My stomach rumbles as if on cue, and I take the hint. I could do with a good meal, and that then gives Quinn some much needed peace. For a bit, anyway.
Bath - Three Weeks Till the End of Tour
The morning and early afternoon have passed in a blur. My next gig tonight is in another intimate venue, in Bath. Luckily, Bath is right next to Bristol so we didn't need to worry about rushing to allow for travel time to get to our new hotel -- Quinn was the only one who had to panic, as we had to leave before room cleaners came and he was still in bed when they arrived. Which I got on camera, and can use as ammunition for Quinn's next birthday post on social media.
