Chapter 2- MEETING

I waited offstage as everyone piled out of the auditorium. It seemed I was the only one to be going backstage. A lady wearing a headset placed a hand on my shoulder, "You must be Jackie, the radio contest winner?"

I smiled the biggest smile I had all night, "Yes. Yes I am." . The lady's name was Lucille, and she was Mark's concert organizer. She led me backstage and there was people everywhere, cleaning and packing. Until I was led into a white hallway, it was silent and calming.

I started getting nervous, we approached a grey door with a taped piece of printer paper that had "Mark Foster" scribbled on it. "..this is it," I thought. Lucille smiled as she knocked on the door, "Hey Mark, Jackie is here. Are you ready?"

Then, I heard his voice. So smooth and crisp, "Yeah, send her in."
