"And he took you out of school to take you shopping?"
"Yup," Delilah grinned, proud, as she recalled the previous day's events to her friend on the phone as she was driving to school.
"Man," Chelsea whined, "Can I have your Dad?"
"No." Delilah snapped. She meant it in every context of the word.
"Ugh, grumpy bitch," Chelsea mumbled, and Delilah narrowed her eyes at the words. "Loosen up, I didn't mean it like that. Besides, I have Romeo."
There was silence for a moment. "Who the fuck is Romeo? I miss a day of school and you already have a new fling?" Delilah snapped back, incredulous.
Chelsea snorted, "Chill the fuck out, doll. I'll tell you when you get here."
"You better," she told her, "I'm pulling up in a second, anyway."
"Kay, meet me at my locker."
Delilah told her a goodbye and hung up, steering into the parking lot and into the empty parking space at the entrance, reversing slightly when she saw she was parked wonky. It was a pet peeve of hers that she couldn't help but correct every time.
She was in an exceptional mood after the day before (excluding the run-in with her rapidly becoming non-favourite gang member), and she skipped down the hallways with a bounce in her heel.
She span round the corner and saw a pair of very expensive Dior heels and tan legs; the locker obscuring her view of her bubbly brunette friend.
"Spill," Delilah said abruptly, leaning her shoulder against the adjoining locker and folding her arms with a raised eyebrow. "Who's Romeo?" She said the name as if it were a joke.
"His name isn't actually Romeo," Chelsea rolled her eyes, "but it may as well be to me."
Delilah narrowed her eyes in half amusement, half disgust as she watched her best friend sigh happily, and smile secretly to herself as she slammed her locker shut.
"I need a serious update," Delilah prompted.
Chelsea grinned.
"His names Aron, he's on the captain of the lacrosse team and he's a senior at Blue Coyster High."
Delilah's lips slowly curved into a smirk, "You bagged a Lacrosse guy? You bitch!"
Chelsea smiled proudly and flipped her light chocolate hair over her shoulder, "I know."
Delilah laughed and bumped hips with Chelsea. "Well, I guess I'll be meeting sir Romeo soon?"
"Yes you will."
The bell rang and the blonde shook her head. "I can't believe you've got such a hottie," Delilah laughed bitterly.
"Shut up," Chelsea said bluntly, "You know fine well that if you asked any guy he'd go out with you."
She snorted. "Relationships are a no," Delilah shrugged, and Chelsea gave up. "Anyway, whatever, we'll talk about your lacrosse guy at lunch," she said, and they hugged and parted ways.
"You better tell me about yesterday, too!" Chelsea called after her, and Delilah waved her off as a sign that she would before exiting the building.

"I've been thinking," Chelsea started, pen poised, "and it'll be a lot cheaper if we just go to one of the clubs around here, or even down town."
Delilah was disgusted by the proposition. "It's my 18th, Chels, I don't give a fuck about the money. I wanna get trashed and grind up on a couple of sexy Abercrombie-looking guys."
