The Break

It would have been the summer holidays by now. I could have been on holiday. Relaxing on the beach. Eating fish and chips. But no. I'm stuck here, walking down the motorway, trying not to die. Being as quiet as possible not to alert the nearby Corpses. I had to kill a few but i used my bat to conserve ammo and keep noise to a minimum. It was a long walk, but it was especially hard on Geo. Even though she was big for a puppy it was hard on her legs. I let her sit in the backpack for a while to rest which helped a lot. About an hour later we reached the end of the highway and had to pick a path. I consulted the map and decided to head right. As we were walking i checked a few houses for any survivors and supplies, but the closest thing to a person a saw was a bit of pondweed on the floor. Later up the road I found a taller building, like a small 4 Floored hotel. I went in to see if any food there had survived and if any luggage did too. The first few floors were empty, just a few Corpses but I had a feeling the top floor was the jackpot. As i climbed to the top I heard a weird sound coming from one of the rooms. It sounded like
'A Human!'
I carefully opened the door to show I was no threat and looked in. They looked large, about 6'7 and very bloated. And...
'oh no'
The Mutated Corpse let out a massive scream as I pulled out my pistol and started shooting.
'DAMMIT'
It slowly stood up and shook of the bullets like it was just a few drops of water. I bolted to the stairs and ran to the roof as the stairs leading down were soon to be packed with Corpses. I got to the roof and looked for a ladder but there was non in sight. I knew what I had to do. I heard the Corpse storming up the stairs so I grabbed Geo, put her in my bag and
Jumped.
