YN POV- 7:00 AM Friday
I roll over as my alarm goes off signaling it's time to start my day. I wake up and pick out a simple, but cute outfit for school then proceeded to shower and get ready. "YN come on bro! Everybody waiting for you!" I hear Brandon yell from downstairs. "I'm coming damn!" I said as I grabbed my backpack and made my way outside.
When I get outside to the car, I see Sharife, Masyn, and Destin waiting in the car. "Goodmorning everyone" I said smiling as I entered the car. Multiple hey's filled the car as Brandon drove off. " So YN you coming to the game?" asked Sharife. "Well duuuh! I'll be there after track practice though" I shrugged. I looked to the front and see Sharife smirk and soon he makes eye contact with me through the rearview mirror.
I don't know what it is about this boy, but he has this effect on me. I've been crushing on him since we were kids. I just can't risk telling him how I feel because what if he doesn't see me that way? Uggghh I hate it here.
After a 20 minute drive, we pull into the parking lot of school. It is now 8:15 AM and first block starts at 8:20. " See y'all later" I waved to everyone as I started making my way to class. " YN wait up!" I turned to see Sharife running towards me. "What's up?" I stopped in my tacks to allow him to catch up."Nothing just wanted to walk with you to class" he stated as we continued our walk.
We get to first block which is Pre-Cal and everyonce starts to hype Rife up because today is the fourth round of playoffs. We take our seats and began our long day at the one and only, McEachern High.
3:30 PM End of School Day
I was making my way to the girls track locker room when I spotted Brandon and Rife waiting by the door. "Hey y'all?" I questioned then. " We just wanted to see if you wanted or needed anything before we head to our pre-game lunch." Brandon answered back to me. "No i'm good. But Brandon when y'all get ready to get on the bus let me know so I can get the keys or just leave them with Destin since she's riding with me." I stated. " I got you, see you later." We hugged and they were on their way.
After a quick track workout, I called Destin so we can head to my house so we can shower. We arrived at my house at my house and head to my room. " Alright it's 4:45, we need to be on the road by 5:30 so we can make it on time." Destin nodded and went off to the guest bathroom to get showered and ready.
It was 4:55 when I stepped out the shower, drying off and moisturizing my body. I put curl products in my hair and continued to my room where I put on distressed/ripped jeans, a McEachern Basketball shirt and my forces. Destin and I made our way to the car and began our 1hr 24 minute drive to Grayson.
7:10 PM
As we walk in the foyer we stop to speak to Masyn as she's stretching and head off to find our seat. We make our way into the gym seeing both sides warming up. " Hi mommy, Hi daddy" I said as I took my usual seat along the sideline of the court, behind the boys. " Hi Mr and Mrs. Boston" Destin said taking her seat. We received a head nod from my parents were already locked in because they take our passions seriously. Soon, Sharife's family and Isaac joined us.
The game has started and we have the ball. Sharife is bring the ball down the court, makes a pass to Brandon and cuts to the basket as Jens set a screen. Brandon passes the ball to Sharife as he makes an easy lay-up and gets fouled. As the game goes on, Sharife and Brandon are putting up points left and right, but Grayson lowkey been locking us up. As the game comes to an end, Grayson beat us 82-76.
At McEachern
Destin and I are waiting outside the gym for Masyn and the boys to arrive. Soon we see the buses pull in and everyone getting off. Eventually we spot our people and they make their way to the car. "Hey guys" Destin nods. Nothing but silence. " Y'all had a good game. Y'all fought all the way through and thats all that matters." I stated as I drove off.
We make it back to our street, where everyone gets out and walks to their homes next door and across the street. Today was a hell of a day.
