Sad day (Great title wooo)

"Leo?" I say, stopping in our tracks. He turns to face me, waiting for the question.

"Oh, nothing I just wanted to stop walking. I'm lazy," I grin.

"Well you should've just said that, shouldn't you?" he grins back.

Before our lips can touch we hear a piercing scream from the borders of camp that shatters the moment. We share a look and run back to the others on the beach who are already putting clothes on so we aren't awkwardly standing there in bathing costumes. a/n Innuendo right there. After, we all run.

Atmospheric line break ooooo

The crowd stays silent, but I don't see why so I stand on my tiptoes to catch a glance of the scene.

A girl, 10 maybe, lies on the ground and doesn't move or speak. A scarlett splash covers her heart and I have to cover my mouth to avoid yelping.

Dead.

That girl is dead, she never made it into camp. Into safety. She never knew what safety was like.

Tears start to fill my eyes so I turn around and press my face into Leo's shoulder, making his shirt damp with my tears. He strokes my hair calmly and it almost makes me stop sobbing.

"What if she isn't dead," I mumble into Leo's shirt, he shakes his head. There's too much damage.

"She was so young, why couldn't that happen to me when I got here," I whisper this time, mainly to myself.

Chiron arrives, breaking the silence somehow and everyones emotions run wild. He hushes us.

"We will hold a memorial for this honorable demigod this evening. Even at such a young age she made it this far, so we shall hope that this girl ends up in Elysium," Chiron announces.

Even though I can't see him I know he would be just as upset as we all are.

But still, I cannot push my thoughts aside.

This girl could've been me.

This girl should've been me.

I was about to ask how school was going but it seems like a stupid question.

School is always boring and hard and all round awful.

But don't let it spoil your fun ;)

If you get detention though...I said absolutely nothing
