Marcus's POV
Going back to that place supposedly called my home, was one of the things I dreaded the most. I never really liked anyone in my family...well just my mom and dad cause I am the only boy and my sisters are all in either university or married.
I was called the black sheep of the family by my dad mainly because I refused to go to the commercial class so that I could become the future owner of his multi-millonaire company and my mum....well my mom had no choice than to go along with him because my dad never listened to whatever she had to say. Sometimes I wonder how they got married?.
"Good afternoon sir, Good afternoon ma" I greeted my parents as I walked it to our expensively furnished living room.
I didn't expect to see anyone of them at home because dad was hardly home and should have been in her supermarket.
"Good afternoon...sit down...we need to talk to you" my dad said keeping a straight face.
I sat down on the couch opposite them and made sure I made no eye contact especially with my dad.
"So we heard that you still choose to be in the art class instead of commercial. Is your plan to bring shame to this family?" He said with anger in his voice.
"Dad with all due respect..." I started off.
"It's my life not yours and I chose to do whatever I want. I have told you so many times that I don't want to be in the commercial class. I have made up my mind that I want to be a lawyer and its final....there is nothing you and mom can do that will make me change my mind.""Will you shut up" he said standing up
"You have to understand your father, we want the best for you" mum added."Do you think becoming a lawyer can give you as much money as my company will...I can see that your plan is to tarnish my reputation. How will I tell my friends that I have a son that doesn't want to be part of my company..??" He said in anger.
"You guys don't want any best for me...you just want me to join for your selfish interest and I'm not going to that..you can go to hell with your company..I don't care as I said before I have made up my mind." I said.
Dad raised his hands to slap me but I held it in the air.
"Don't you dare" I said dropping his hands and walking out of the house.I could hear my dad's voice from the gate. I had no idea where I was going to but I knew I just had to leave that house now, cause I couldn't stand any of them.
I walked a few meters away from my house and then I brought out my phone to call any of my friends to see if I could probably meet them.
David's phone was switched off but Micheal luckily picked up and I asked him if I could come.
He sent the address and I went to meet him there.
