A New Monster~Chapter 9

"SANS! WAKE UP LAZY BONES! WE HAVE TO BE ON WATCH INCASE ANY MORE HUMANS COME BY!"

The tall skeleton marched over to sans, who now seemed to be asleep. Again.

"SANS!"

"huh oh. What's up bro?" Sans looked up at the tall skeleton, most likely his brother.

"YOU KNOW WHAT'S UP BROTHER! IT BEEN RIGHT DAYS AND YOU STILL. HAVEN'T. RECALIBRATED. YOUR. PUZZLES!!!" The skeleton yelled at his brother. It wasn't an angry, mean yell. More of a frustrated, caring yell. Like he wanted something to get done, but wasn't going to be rude or harmful to his brother for it.

Sans left his century station and stood in front of his brother. Before the talk monster, sans looked even shorter, and his brother looked even taller.

" Sorry bro. I'll get a skele-ton more world done today. " Despite his words, Sans' tone was sarcastic.

"I DON'T BELIEVE YOU BROTHER! WHY DO YOU INSIST ON SAYING ANY EVERY CHANCE YOU GET? BESIDES, I DON'T THINK YOU WILL GET ANYTHING DONE. WE HAVE TO BE ON GUARD INCASE A EVIL HUMAN COMES BY! THEN WE CAN CAPTURE THEM WITH PUZZLES AND GIVE THEM TO UNDYNE!" Papyrus wasn't going to fall for his brothers tricks again. He's beloved him once, only to return to see him in a tree, asleep.

"Heh. Guess there's no avoiding it." Sans stepped back and motioned to the 'lamps'. Yeah right. They' weren't lamps. Not even the non-human things were lamps. Just really really detailed and colored snow lamps. He made them as soon as he walked away from the humans. How had he done it so fast? MAGIC. Literally. He just used blue magic and boom! Done. "These lamps are my newest puzzle" ( I don't know what happened, but it auto corrected 'the tall skeleton' {papyrus} to death...*deep breath* AAAAAAAAAGGGHHAA-) The tall skeleton was skeptical. Since when did sans create puzzles? It doesn't matter.

"REALLY! WOWIE! SHOW ME THIS PUZZLE BROTHER!"

"sure thing "

Sans again motioned to the 'lamps'. " the puzzle is to find what is and isn't a lamp.

Now that the skeleton looked at the lamps, he noticed that the lamps weren't lamps at all. But instead , they were snow creations. And the three lamps beside them.... Wait.. Th-those weren't lamps.... They were....

"HUMANS!" the look on Sans' face when his brother said that word was filled with indescribable amount of shock. The 'lamp humans' were just as shocked, as well as slightly scared. Sure, they were hero's but they got the impression that hurting this individual, even in self-defense or the defense of another person, they would not like the consequences.

"Yep. You got me there. maybe I should put some more backbone into my puzzles if you were able to solve it so quickly." Since when did this strategy not work? Maybe directly drawing his attention and making his brother examine the 'lamps' was too head on? or maybe it was because he had seen Frisk? Who knew. Either way, he couldn't predict what was going to happen.

That pun seemed to get his attention. If only for a moment.

"NYEH! STOP TH E AWFUL PUNS AT ONCE BROTHER!" The skeleton turned his head to his brother, annoyed. This distraction only lasted for a couple seconds, but the humans behind the lamps took it as an advantage. They all scurried out of behind the lamps, standing behind the shorter of the two skelebros. This seemed to bring his attention back to the humans, however, as he soon got over his frustration at the stout skeletons constant puning.

"RIGHT! TINY HUMANS! YOU HAVE TO GO SOLVE THE PUZZLES!! WAIT! I HAVE TO REMAKE THE PUZZLES! NYEH! GOODBYE TINY HUMANS GOODBYE SANS!" The tall skeleton left the area, and sans turned to the teens behind him.

"that's my bro for ya'. Heh. "

Deku was curious about the tall skeleton. He seemed like a really cool...uh... Monster? He thought that was what he's been told. (Look, I don't know anymore. Just assume ritual is the best at giving information about a world to random bunch of peeps from a random place.) "If in may ask, what is his name?" I

" Papyrus. Oh... You should probably get going now... don't want to keep him waiting. "

The group nodded, walking off towards the way Papyrus had left. Sans wouldn't just let them walk off though, not knowing what may happen if he didnt.

"Hey...I know you all are probably confused by his attraction to capturing humans, but that a just cause he wants to get in the royal guard. Humans.... Have always been disliked in a way by some monsters since the whole war..... But ever since the kings declaration...well. Just know that if you hurt paps..... you aren't gonna like what happens next." Sans eye flashed blue for a moment, his ok points gone, and the next he had disappeared.

Wattpad says it's only been 5 days since I uploaded but that's a lie. I think I just did a couple spell checks. I feel like it's been a little to long.

So, yeah. Sorry for taking so long, and the short chapter. I have been trying to get each chapter to over 1000 words, but that didn't happen this time. I knew I needed to get something out, so I'm putting it out before 1000 words this time. The ending also worked well for a cliffhanger, which is another thing I try to end each chapter with.
