Things got better. My eyesight returned fully. School kept a close eye on me, so the bullying lessened. Erin switched classes to always be with me. Even my mom moved out, so there was no more arguing or abuse. All was well until my father got into a car accident.
"He's in a coma." The doctor said. "W-what?" I stuttered. I started having a panic attack. How will we eat, where will we live? I was completely freaking out. "you will have to go to your mother's place." The doctor stated. I froze. I felt tears running down my face. "hey It's okay Alex, I'll protect you I promise." Adrien said with small tears in his eyes. "O-okay." I stuttered, calming down a little bit.
"Hey boys, how are you?" My mother asked with a smile as she greeted both of us. "Hi mom." Adrien said returning the smile. I waved but didn't say anything. "Oh I'm truly sorry, Alexander." she said as she hugged me. I was amazed. Did she mean it? She seemed like she did. I started crying and hugged her back. Adrien joined in the hug. Mom pulled away with tears in her eyes, "Let's go home, okay." she says as she wipes the tears from her eyes.
When we got home I slowly made my way to my room. I closed my door, but didn't bother to lock it. I got my pencil sharpener and took out the blade. I got about four cuts in before there was knocking on my door. "Alexander? Are you in there?" My mother asks. I wasn't ready to talk to her yet, so I didn't respond to her. "I'm coming in." she said. As the door knob turned, I raised the blade to my throat and ran it across my neck. When the door fully opened, I collapsed. "Oh my God, Alexander?! Adrien, call an ambulance NOW!" She screamed as she saw the slash across my neck. That was the last thing I heard before I passed out from blood loss.
I woke up in a familiar white room. I tried to look around, but the nauseating pain prevented me from doing so. At the corner of my eyes, I saw movement.I tried moving my hand, but something was gripping it tightly. "A-Alex?" A sweet girl-like voice said. My bed had started to move up, so I could see my surroundings a little better. "Y-you're awake, you're actually awake!" The voice said again. I look around and see Erin, mom, Robert, and Adrien. (Robert is a very close family friend, He is also a beta.) I tried speaking , but completely failed. Erin let go of my hand. She went to get something. "Here, try this." Erin said with tears in her eyes. She handed me my white board. "Where am I?" I wrote down. My hands were shaking. "You're in the hospital, y-you tried to..." My mother started but for some reason couldn't finish. "They said you weren't going to wake up and come say our goodbyes." Adrien said, wiping tears from his eyes. "How long was I out for?" I wrote. "Two months." Robert said. Two months?! Wow that's a long time to be waiting for me to wake up. I'm not worth it.
Three weeks later, I was discharged. Mom, Adrien, and Robert went through my room, looking for all the things that I can harm myself with. Erin was there too, but she stayed with me downstairs. "So how are you feeling, puppy?" She asked. Puppy is the nickname she gave me. "I'm o-okay, boo." I say. Boo is the name I gave her, because she loves to scare the crap out of me. "That's good." Erin says, petting my folded down ears. (When wolf ears are down that shows that they are sad/ depressed.) I started falling asleep, so Erin grabbed my head and made me lay on her lap. "U-umm, w-what is h-happening?" I stuttered nervously. My face had to be as red as a tomato. "Well you looked tired, so I wanted you to lie down." She said blushing like crazy. We sat in silence for a few minutes. "Hey puppy, why did you do it?" She asked me. "D-do what?" I asked. "Your attempt, you know we care about you right?" she said. "Oh well, I figured y'all would be happier if I was gone." I say plainly. She was petting my head again. "That's not true, pup." She said calmly. I was falling asleep as we continued to talk. I don't know why, but I always felt extremely comfortable when I was around Erin. I ended up falling asleep on her lap.
"Hey puppy, you need to wake up." I hear as I slowly wake up from a dreamless sleep. "N-no, five more minutes." I say without opening my eyes. I curled up in a ball, then I heard a soft laugh. "Come on pup, you need to eat then you can sleep again." Erin said with a giggle. When I heard that I panicked a little. If I eat I will get fat. "U-um I'm n-not h-hungry right now, I'll eat l-later 'kay?" I say with my eyes still closed. "Well, you still have to get up so I can leave." Erin said. "N-No!" I screamed as I sat up. Erin was shocked at how loud I was. Adrien, Robert, and mom came into the room to see what was happening.
"I-I'm so sorry, I d-didn't mean to yell." I say, quieting my voice. "It's alright, but why don't want me leave?" Erin asks with a confused look. "Oh,well" I started blushing, "You see, I just feel more comfortable around you.I can actually sleep well with you here." I covered my face and before she could respond, I ran up to my room and shut the door. "She probably doesn't feel the same way, you idiot." I say sitting on my bed. I had a huge crush on Erin. I went to look through my stuff, then remembered that my room was searched already. "dang it!" I yell. Three minutes later, there was a knock on my door. "Are you okay, puppy?" Erin asked through the door. "Y-yeah, I'm o-okay." I stuttered. "Can I come in and talk with you?" she asked me. "I thought you w-were leaving?" I said. She comes into my room, and sits on my bed. "I'm going to stay here for awhile. I asked my mom and she said it was okay." Erin says happily. "O-okay, so u-umm." I stutter. I started walking toward her. I sat next to her and gave her a hug. "I'm s-so s-sorry." I mumbled. "sorry for what, puppy?" she asked. "F-for worrying you." I said into her shoulder. I had tears in my eyes as I hugged her tighter. "Hey, it's alright. Don't cry, pup. Just don't do it again." Erin said, as she starts petting my fluffy ears again. I once again started dozing off. "Let's lay down and sleep." She says as she lays down on my bed. "W-what about dinner, you need to eat, boo." I say, still sitting on my bed. "I'm not hungry." She said.I sigh and lay down next to her. "T-thank you g-good n-night, l-love you." I whispered the last part. I started falling asleep. The last thing I heard before I fell asleep was, "Love you too, Alexander." Erin whispered in my ear.
