"Madison, Mackenzie, we are going to be late to dance!" My mom, Melissa, called from the den.
I sighed.
When will I get the courage to ask my mom if I can dance at ALDC, even if it isn't on the junior elite competition team?
Probably never.
My mom walked by me and then she stopped. "Oh! Alison! I have good news! Abby wants to talk to you!"
I looked at my mom, puzzled.
"Abby Lee Miller?" I asked.
"That's the one."
I'm smiled. I was going to meet Abby Lee Miller! I've met her four times, months before the show started (It was about the 18th time my mom asked for me to be on the show), and the rest were at three competitions. I saw some people looking at me at the competitions, wondering why I was sitting with the moms and Abby. Of course they didn't know I was Maddie and Kenzie's sister. They probably just thought I was a lucky fan.
We walked into the ALDC. I was eager to meet Abby. I remember her easily. Brown hair, brown eyes, and almost always wearing black shirts. And there she was. She was standing in the main lobby, and staring right at me. Now I was scared. Maddie and Kenzie walked into studio A, and I stood awkwardly by my mother.
"No need to hide Alison," she said to me sternly.
"Your 12 years old, I don't need a baby on this team!"
I listened to that sentence again. On this team?
Abby must have saw the smile on my face, because she sighed and said, "Oh great, I ruined the surprise."
I couldn't believe it! I'm going to be on the team! But why now...?
"Two of my team members left. I would like you to replace them," Abby said.
I wonder which two team members left. And I wonder why they left. Didn't they love having the fame? I would never leave the team.
I will never leave the team.
I am on the team.
I, Alison Ziegler, am on the team.
