CHAPTER NINE: Why?

I woke first, to a sun that blinded me instantly.

Shoving the girl next to me awake, I stood and stretched. "Uhg..It feels kind of disgusting to have not bathed or brushed my teeth.." We were bound to find somewhere with water, I'd at least rinse my mouth out there.

Clockwork finally stood. She lazily leaned against me, "Toby.. Where..the fuck.." Then it seems her memories over flowed her and she jumped up. "How's that cut?" She paniced.

"It-Its fine.."

"It should be.. Lemon juice keeps it from getting infected.." She worried. Cute.

Wait, cute? Shoving that away too, I urged her forth.

Walking more and more miles aimlessly.

Coming upon a small town or something of the sort and a few paces in a black mist blocked our path. It formed into a long slim body then into long legs that reached almost to the end of his toes, black grimy hair stuck out like straw and his face was white- decorated by a black and white swirl cone.

"Helloo.!" His voice fit just how he looked. Empty. Evil. Creepy.

"Hi..?" Clocky answered first.

"Seems like you two are lost. Need any aid?" He cooed.

"Uh.. We'd rather-"

"Of c-course." I cut her off. Any help would be fine. We had to except these kinds of people. "If we can do a-a-anything in re-repay for your help we w-will."

The thing tapped his leg and hummed. "Alright.! Come to my place, I have many things you could find useful!"

"Bathroom?" I said flatly, no stutter.

"Yes! Of course!"

"I feel definitely icky.." Clock muttered and just leaned into me, holding onto my sweater.

We were taken to a small place, I don't even remember how-or what it was. It was small, grey, and at least had a nice bathroom. I ran in first, to take a shower before Clocky did. I got out, the guy had let me borrow his clothes for a while.

Clockwork came out, he just threw her a very big shirt since he had no female clothing- and she just walked out bare demanding something to wear. Our faces red, we just threw anything at her to fulfill her request.

I sat down next to him, while she changed. "W-Why..?"

"Why what?" He said, his voice tangled and sounded everytime like a purr.

"Why are y-you aiding u-us?" Silence took over. His smile just widened with every given moment.

"I have something I need you to do for me."
