Oliver must have fallen asleep, because next thing he knew, Quinn was standing above him grinning from ear to ear.

"Hit my fastest time yet."

"Hey, that's great. Over 100 yet?"

Quinn shook his head. "Nah dude, I've got the fastball down. But try hitting a curveball that speeds by you so fast you get whiplash"

Oliver climbed out of the tub and threw a towel around his waist.

"Hey, what are you doing tonight? Evelyn is throwing a party and she begged me to bring some of the guys"

"Not really my scene" Oliver replied, drying off. He shook out his curly hair and ran his fingers through it, detangling what he could.

"Please?" Quinn begged him. "Guarantee Ben will make a fool of himself tonight"

Oliver laughed. " What else is new? Who else is coming?"

"Hawk, Ruthie, Squats and Chaz"

Oliver grimaced. "Ethan's coming.. I might have to rethink this"

Quinn rolled his eyes. "Come on, it's a big place and the two of you need to get over it eventually"

Oliver shook his head. "Tell him to grow up and I'll think about it"

Oliver walked away. "So you coming?" Quinn yelled, and Oliver threw up a hand giving him the ok. He might as well go and try to have some fun. Between training and games, he barely got out and he was starting to go a little stir crazy.

"Yo, Q, please tell me Evelyn's fiiiine friend Rose will be there tonight. I want to make a move"

Ben slapped Quinn on the back so hard that the sound bounced off the walls. Quinn grabbed his shoulder, "What the hell Ben?" Chad and Jed walked by, throwing their hands up in the air, "Alpha, my man!" Ben gave them each a high five and flicked a quick glance in Quinn's direction.

"I'm going to be rocking that girl's world tonight."

Quinn shook his head in disgust, and pulled out his phone. He sent a quick text off to Evelyn to let her know to warn Rose. He couldn't stand Ben, and there was no way he was going to let that guy anywhere close to Evelyn's best friend.

He packed up and went to go meet Oliver out front. They usually drove together, since they lived so close to each other.

"Hey," Quinn said, throwing his bag in the backseat. "You definitely have to come now. Ben thinks he's going to get lucky with Rose. My money is on her whipping his ass though. The girl is tough "

Oliver shrugged. "I don't know. I have big plans to curl up and read a book."

Quinn gave him a blank stare. "Seriously? You are a professional baseball player, good-looking--and if you ever tell anyone that I'll kill you-- and rich. And you choose to miss out on a party, where there will be beautiful girls, so you can read a book?!"

"Who the hell are you?" Quinn shook his head in disbelief. "I'm kind of ashamed to know you right now"

Oliver punched Quinn in the shoulder, but laughed. "Fine. When you put it that way."

When Oliver dropped Quinn off, he leaned into the window. "Limo is picking us up at 9. Meet me here"

"A limo?!" Oliver was shocked. What the hell kind of party was this? He knew Evelyn was rich, but this was too much. Oliver still wasn't used to having money. He was raised in foster care, so he never had a cent to his name. He would use the ballpark as an escape from his life, and it quickly became his greatest passion. That's where he met Ben, who's family ended up taking him in when he had no place left to go. They had put him through school, and supported him when he got a scholarship for college baseball. Him and Ben were close, until Ben started getting offers from different teams. His ego grew as his wallet did, and Oliver just couldn't understand why Ben had changed so much. He was happy they were on the same team, but Ben was always out to prove he was the best, and that competition left a bad taste in Oliver's mouth.
